Located 5 mi. from Shell Knob and Table Rock Lake, this is a beautifully restored family farmhouse with 3 bedrooms/3 baths on 17 wooded acres in the Ozark Mountains. Nestled next to the National Mark Twain Forest with scenic views, the house can comfortably accommodate 6 guests (no children under 10 please), with a fully equipped kitchen, 3 separate sitting areas, and 2 screened-in porches. We are 51 mi from Springfield, 24 mi from Aurora, 38 mi from Branson, and 32 mi. from Eureka Springs, AR.

The space
Plenty of unpaved parking with space for multiple vehicles, boats or RV (no hookups). Cozy living room on main floor with wood burning fireplace and large deck overlooking wooded area. Brightly lit sitting room with electric fireplace off farmhouse kitchen and dining area. Bedrooms are all in separate areas of the house:

- Ensuite master bedroom with king bed, sitting area, and french doors to deck.
- Downstairs "Steinbeck Suite"/queen bedroom with attached bathroom and cozy sitting room that may be used as a fourth small bedroom. Access to screened in porch on this level.
- Upstairs "Crow's Nest"/ duo-twin bedroom with great views of the property and the woods.

TV/DVD with good selection of movies (sorry no cable) and Wifi. A separate art studio/meeting room is available for artists or family gatherings by special arrangement only.

This quiet, rural property offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets, natural wildlife, nature walks and complete privacy, all with easy access to small town amenities. As this is a restored family farmhouse with a number of antiques and family mementoes, it is not suitable for young children under the age of 10. We're located minutes from boat launches, Branson is only 45 minutes away if you want major entertainment, and Crystal Bridges Museum is an hours drive. Roaring River State Park is 17 miles away and offers great trout fishing and family picnicking. Springfield is just over an hour away and is the home of Bass Pro, Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, and multiple cultural and musical activities year round.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the house and the property around it. A 400 sq ft art studio/meeting room is available for family or business gatherings, by arrangement.

Neighborhood highlights

Although the postal address shows Aurora, the property is actually just 8 miles north of Shell Knob, MO. The house is located on 17 acres on a rural, county-maintained gravel road. With only a few other houses on the road, there is very little noise. You may encounter the occasional cow that has strayed from the pasture next door, a few deer passing by and lots of birds and squirrels.
