It was a fantastic stay at Komala. I made an internship in Bali and i stayed there for one month. Wayan and her family are very nice and polite and i felt really comfortable. You have an authentic look on a traditional balinese family. The house is amazing, you feel like living in a little temple and i enjoyed sitting in front of the house after work and drinking a coconut. The area around the house is really nice, you are located in between wonderfull rice fields. I recommend this stay and i will defenetly come back one day. Terima Kasih banyak Wayan dan keluarga kamu!
We had the best stay in Komala, Ubud. Our host Wayan is a kind, helpful and carring person and she made us feel right at home. She also prepared delisious balinese food and juices for us. The room is very charming and has a outdoor bathroom. The teresse is surrounded by a lovely oasis where you can enjoy your meals. At Wayans you get the real Balinese experience with tempels and ricefealds in the backyard, traditions and family life. Also they got really good wifi installed when we were there. We would very much like to recommend this place, we had a lovely time.
Thank you for the kind words. We will be sure to pass along your impression to Wayan. It will meant a lot to her. She also really enjoyed having you.
And yes..that internet upgrade is a real bonus and guests will be sure to appreciate that.
Safe travels...Jacques and Anita
Wayan, the host of Komala 2, is an incredibly kind, welcoming and thoughtful woman. She and her family brought a lot of joy to my stay there. Jacques and Anita have a great amount of integrity, and are extremely honest and genuine people. They clearly demonstrate that they want their guests to have a good time and go out of their way to ensure people are happy and having the experience they want to have.

About the Host, Jacques And Anita
We are a Canadian / Indonesian couple residing permanently in Ubud. We enjoy renting out our property “Anita’s Villa” and meeting new people.
One thing that struck Anita early on as she quickly engaged with local Indonesians, was the struggle local Indonesian property owners have with the competitive edge and the increasing number of foreign investors.
The main challenges we identified were;
- language barrier,
- computer and internet technology skills and
- appreciating foreign living and hospitality standards
Anita who is Indonesian, her fluency in English and extensive experience in the hospitality industry, and my technology and communications, local property owners have turned to us for help and transfer knowledge to their young adults in hopes of becoming self sufficient, more effective property managers, help families and their local community economically and supplement the cost of education.
In a very short time we have grown to over 20 properties in the desirable and scenic area of Bentuyung and Junjungan villages. Local properties owners have already benefited from our assistance and we look forward to growing this association as the word and gossip spreads throughout the community.
