Thank you for the nice words. Next time you stay with us I recommend you use the blinds to shut the heat out in the daytime. There are blinds both on the big and the small windows. Upstairs there is a safety gate, so that the kids can play there. When we built the house our kids were 1 and 3 years old, and we took this into account when we decorated the house. The upstairs is usually the play area, with the TV and the toys. Just close the gate and the kids are fine. I am were sorry that you did not see the blinds and the safety gate.
