Make us your home base this season and explore the Garden Route at your leisure and see for yourself why this part of the world is called Eden.

The space
The Cottage is a free-standing, fully equipped two bedroom house in the quiet Whale Rock area of Plettenberg bay. We call it a cottage because it seems tiny compared to the mansions and villas the area is known for. But don't let it's name fool you... The modern architecture and superb use of space will make you feel like you are also one of the elite of the jewel of the Garden Route that is Plett.

Perfect for a couple, the main bedroom has a king size bed and a beautiful view over the bay. Additional guests can also be accommodated with two single beds in the second bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

A lovely, spacious living area and open plan kitchen is the ideal space to practice your culinary skills, play a round or two of board games or just relax in front of the TV. A basic selection of satellite TV channels are available but if you need the DSTV Premium package for that big sporting event, we can activate it for you as an optional extra.

We get most compliments about the amenities in the house... A full set of crockery and a dishwasher means you don't have to feel guilty about letting the dishes stand over for a day if you don't feel like washing up. There is a large fridge and freezer combination and a fully automatic washing machine for guests staying longer periods.
We now offer WiFi too so why not bring your laptop and blog, vlog, code, sketch, animate, stream, dream and create anything a Digital Nomad could. If you need to work, you might as well work in a place that will inspire you ;)

Please note there is a 1GB/day free data limit on wifi but talk to us if you need special facilities for a remote-working holiday or long term rental or need more than the allocated data allowance for your stay. Data top-ups can be arranged at R200/25GB.

As much as people love the inside of the house, you are not in Plett to stay indoors the whole day! Grab some charcoal briquettes from the shop down the road and have a South African Braai (barbeque) outside. Please don't use firewood and large open flames as we are located in a high fire risk area. The kettle braai and umbrella is behind the house. Or just relax on the deck with a glass of wine. The beach is about 1km away and a nice walk down the hill. Of course you can also drive to one of the many beaches or visitor sites in the area.

Since AirBNB is all about home sharing, we want to invite you to share and care for our garden with us. We have just started with the garden and if you have green fingers, you are welcome to give the plants some water on a hot day or even leave an indigenous pot plant of your own choosing. Please send us a photo of your handiwork and we will look after your plant until your visit next year...

Where you’ll be

Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa

Whale Rock is a new area in Plett with stunningly beautiful modern villas and apartments. Our house is on a quiet street that still has abundant space around it and it feels like you have a great big garden all to yourself. The guinea fowl and their babies are daily visitors and love getting fed in the afternoon. They go from house to house to say hi and scratch around in the garden. It is a treat unto itself to just sit on the deck watching the birds do their thing without a care in the world. The neigbors are friendly and the whole of Plett is really just a generally happy place. Walking and cycling is a very popular activity and you will soon see familiar faces pass by on their morning walk. You will feel welcome, relaxed and refreshed on your first day in Plettenberg Bay.
