One of the most popular beaches is the Plage Publique des Ponchettes.

The space

This fabulous air-conditioned apartment (104 sq m)/(1120 sq ft) is on the 1st FLOOR of an historic Old Nice building. The interior been renovated with style and flair to produce a sophisticated town centre apartment. Situated in Rue Saint Vincent, a quiet street off the main drag. The apartment is very spacious and has a loft flavour that's accentuated by the huge beams on the ceiling and the very tall French windows. It's very large living room (40 sq m) is complimented by a new kitchen, a beautiful walk in shower with 2 shower heads and three double bedrooms.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 have king size beds. The third bedroom has twin beds. Fully fitted air conditioned (hot and cold) in all 3 bedrooms and lounge, table lights, hairdryer. All bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space with hangers and bedside tables and draws. Bathroom with shower, and mirrored cupboard unit. Shaving mirror.

GUIDE TO NICE
Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur, is beautifully curved round the Bay of Angels, desirable and as lively as you like. Its reputation for glamour is enhanced by an equal reputation for top-end scandal. The clearest-possible light spangles the Mediterranean to create a setting for sybarites, and shadows for well-dressed decadence. The inauguration, in autumn 2013, of the brand new Promenade du Paillon - 30 acres of park running from the city centre to the sea - indicates that it has the imagination and drive to fulfill its ambitions. This is a glorious, and playful, slice of urban greensward. And it’s bewitching at pretty much any time of year.

Where to go
The key sight - it's unmissable as you wing into Nice airport - is the glorious curve of the Bay of Angels, miles of the loveliest urban sea-front in Europe, fringed by the celebrated Promenade des Anglais. You could spend an entire trip just wandering along here. But you'll also need to see Nice old town, where the real Niçois re-colonise their city, hosting the south's finest flower market on the Cours
There is a sense of sunlit privilege to the Promenade-des-Anglais. Everyone with a gram of glamour has been. Now you’re there, too, amid palms, pergolas, amblers of all nations and senior ladies with small dogs. Twentieth-century development has left blots, but grand edifices survive, notably the Palais de Masséna, now a free museum.
Nip through the gardens and inside, to see how Niçois life was when lived by aristocrats. Walk on to the Albert I gardens and then along Rue St-François-de-Paule. This spits you out at the Cours Saleya whose flower market (daily, bar Mondays) is an effusion of Provençal sensuality. Now plunge into the old town, its streets a concentration of Mediterranean life.
AFTERNOONS
Continue edging through the old town, before emerging on to the central Place Masséna, a vast space where Nice breathes out among gardens and arcaded buildings of Pompeian red.
OLD HANDS
MORNING
Hop on a bus (15, 17, 20, 22 or 25) up Cimiez Hill to the Matisse Museum (164 Avenue-des-Arènes-de-Cimiez; free). While in the district, head across the olive grove to the Franciscan monastery church. Note, also, the stately Régina building nearby. Victoria holidayed in its west wing from 1897-99.
Now walk down the Boulevard-de-Cimiez, where fancy folk lived in frothy villas. It’s a tidy walk, but all downhill, to the Musée Marc Chagall (Ave Dr-Ménard, €7.50/£6.30). The great Biblical Message tableaux mesmerises with colour and significance.
AFTERNOON
Take a tram along Avenue Jean Médecin and on to Place Garibaldi, a fine square where Nice turns up the Mediterranean classicism. A statue of local lad Giuseppe oversees the bustling elegance.

The Old Town is compact, vibrant, bustling and yet peaceful.
There are many bars and restaurants, but this is an attraction.
It is safe, convenient and full of colours and flavours.
Having said that it may not be the place to stay if you like peace and quiet. Part of the beauty is the fact it is one of the cleanest Cities in Europe; however first timers should be aware that they start cleaning all the streets, emptying the bins in the Old Town at 5.30-6.00 am. No matter where your apartment is the beeping Rubbish Lorry reversing up the old narrow streets will probably awake you. Anywhere is noisy at some time. Heck, it only takes a disruptive neighbour with heels, or domestic dispute, or dog barking to disrupt any lodgement. My apartment is quiet, aside from the random reveller at night, and the garbage bin truck in the mornings.
Personally I love the fact you have all these wonderful bars, , shops and restaurants on your doorstep and judging by my bookings so do most tourists. However if you want a quiet life I would suggest you stay out of town.

If you need a big space this place has it that's for sure. The front room is massive and it was nice to have the family sitting around all in one space together. The location is ideal. I don't think you could ask for better. Within walking distance to everything. The restaurants and bars below were fantastic and we visited them frequently. But for all the good there is a bad and it's a big one. If you are a sound sleeper then this is not an issue for you and rent this place if it is available. But if you like to stay out late at night eating and drinking then you may want to look elsewhere. From 530-600am every morning the trash guys show up. For 30 minutes they are yelling at each other and throwing bottles and god knows what else into metal bins and it is very loud. For us we had to check out early and get into a hotel because nobody was getting any sleep. I hate to write anything negative but I want to be honest here so you know what you are getting.

I was disappointed to read your review and having received over 40 five stars reviews and over 100 on my other sites I am a little aggrieved at your review to say the least. The old town is a very vibrant place and yes they do start cleaning the streets and emptying garbage at 5.30am which affects all apartments in the Old Town. I suggest you do more research next time you want to stay in a City centre, this is no different to any other City Centre I have stayed in, there is plenty of information on Trip Advisor on the Old Town, its no secret. Im afraid you cant have a great location and easy access to bars, restaurants, shops and the beach without noise. As for the yelling this is most unusual but there is nothing I can do about that. Maybe you should think about staying in the outskirts of a City for your next holiday.

Michael's flat is at a great location, literally a couple of hundred yards from the beach. The living room is spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. It is very close to a tram station, bars and restaurants and literally downstairs. We had no problem communicating with the host and a lady explained everything rather nicely on our arrival. In summary, very pleasant experience and a highly recommended flat.

This apartment is very spacious, particularly when you consider it is right in the heart of the old town. Everything went smoothly, and Valerie was kind enough to have us drop of the luggage earlier, which was a great help. The apartment is beautiful, modern and well equipped and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. The beds were comfortable, and the street is quiet, except in the morning when they come and clean the streets. A wonderful stay, highly recommended
