A cozy, old little house in the village of Päijälä in Kuhmoinen, just over an hour's drive from Tampere, Lahti and Jyväskylä. The journey from Helsinki takes about 2.5 hours.

The space
The house was built in 1939 and renovated with respect for the old in the 2010's.

The house is about 50 square meters; downstairs is the entrance hall, living room and kitchen. Upstairs is the master bedroom.

The house has electric heating and running hot water, and the living room has a fireplace. Downstairs and the other bedroom upstairs is air-conditioned.

The water comes from its own well and it is of good quality.

The living room has two beds bed, large dining table and TV.

The kitchen has a wooden sofa, a wood-burning stove and a baking oven, which is heated by the host during the winter if needed.
The kitchen is well equipped: electric stove / oven, cooker hood, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave oven,
coffee maker, toaster and electric kettle. Good cooking utensils and crockery are at your disposal.

The upstairs bedroom, which has steep stairs, has two twin beds.
During summer there is another bedroom (no heating and no A/C) upstairs with 140cm double bed.

Inside there is an eco-toilet available during fall (no shower; shower is in the sauna building), winter and spring seasons; in summer a clean composting outhouse is used, which can be used also all year round.

The house also has satellite TV (mainly German-speaking channels, including Eurosport, and English-language news channels).
Internet access is free, the house has Wi-Fi connected to a 4G network (speed varies, typically 1-10 Mb).

For small children there is a cot, high chair and potty.
There is a good selection of indoor games available (Chess, Monopoly, Othello, Rummikub, Kimble, Domino, Mastermind, playing cards).

Pets are welcome, so the house may not be suitable for people with allergies. The house is not accessible to people with disabilities.

There is a separate sauna building in the yard with a steam room, a washroom and a hand shower. The water is heated in a pot with wood.
Sauna and fireplace wood is included in the price.
