The space

This exquisite home was handmade by the finest woodworker in the valley. From the hand carved front door to the stained glass interior doors, this property is truly a work of art. The log ridge beam weighs over 5,000 pounds, and the joints were hand cut with a chainsaw, 30 feet off the ground! The open floor plan of the living, dining and kitchen areas are designed around a river rock fireplace. The great room is a two story, open space with a giant picture window that frames Mt. Crested Butte. It has a wood burning fireplace, and deck facing Mt. Crested Butte.

The gourmet kitchen features unfitted cabinets, a huge butcher block island with a prep sink, pot rack, and bar stool seating, all handmade. There are granite counter tops, a gas cook top with six burners surrounded by river rock, a farm sink, and a dining room table that seats 6, with two folding chairs available for additional seating. A small deck right off the kitchen has a convenient BBQ grill.

The deck and hot tub seats 6 with a view of Mt. Crested Butte.

There is a half bath on the main floor, and a laundry room with an LG large capacity washer and dryer.

The master bedroom is very private on the top floor. There is a skylight with a view of Mt Crested Butte and the stars. Queen bed, down comforter and an intimate seating area for relaxing and reading, or watching TV. The master bath has a shower and separate claw foot tub, also with a skylight over the tub. The unfitted vanity cabinet has a granite top and a lighted makeup mirror.

The downstairs bedroom is fitted with a Tempurpedic queen mattress and a down comforter. There is a dresser and large mirror, television, and side table.

The bunk room has a twin over double bed with down comforters. There is a dresser and TV in this room as well.

The downstairs bath has a tub and granite shower, unfitted vanity cabinet with granite top.

This is a dedicated vacation rental (the owners don't move out so you can use their home for a few days). It is lightly decorated so you have room to spread out.

The main areas all have slate floors. The bedrooms are carpeted, and there is infloor heat throughout the house.

Off street parking for about five cars.

There is access to the garage for ski or bike storage and maintenance.

Mt Crested Butte water comes from a well a little higher up, the drinking water is excellent!

Interaction with guests

Gilbert is available 24/7 for questions or problems, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).

Other things to note

The garage is for bikes and skis only. It has a workbench (no cars allowed).

Sometimes a caretaker is on site. You probably will never see him unless he blows snow or services the hot tub.

We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to spend family time. All of the tedious tasks were taken care of like chopping wood for the fire and snow removal so we could just enjoy our time here. The views from all windows are just breath taking.

The pictures did not do the house justice. It's actually NICER than the pics indicate! So comfortable. Had everything we needed for a great stay, and more! I re-booked another weekend within an hour of arriving.
