Welcome to Ehrenfeld! We offer a charming and beautifully furnished 2 room apartment, 55m2, very quiet and sunny. It has one bedroom with a double bed 160x200, one living/dining room with a very comfortable sofa bed 160x200 (Ligne Roset Multy), a kitchen with dining table, bathroom with shower, a balcony and a huge terrace (smoking here is no problem whilst not permitted inside the apartment). The place has Wifi internet connection, the kitchen is fully equipped (stove with Ceran-field, microwave, dish washer, fridge and deep freezer, washing machine, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and of course plenty of plates, pots and pans. Iron and ironing board as well as towels and bed linen are also available for our guests.
The flat is located in a very calm, low traffic residential area in Ehrenfeld, one of the hippest parts of town. Whether you visit for sightseeing or are on a business trip, the public transport connection here is just excellent: Underground N° 5 (Gutenbergstr.) takes you in 7 min to the cathedral/central station, N°3 or 4 (Piusstr.) get you within 8 min to Neumarkt, the main shopping area, and in 15 min to the exhibition centre (Deutz Messe). Alternatively you can chose the Ehrenfeld Train Station to the exhibition centre (10 min) or Cologne Airport (20 min), and if you travel by car the A57 motorway starts 3 min from here.
Ehrenfeld offers a large variety of restaurants, take aways, bars and coffee places, further bars, restaurants and nightlife options in the so called Belgian Quarter and around Friesenstrasse are within walking distance or can be reached by tube within no time. Supermarkets (also for organic food), bakeries, pharmacy, drugstore, post office, dry clean etc are just 5 minutes away. Joggers will be pleased to find the large green belt just 500m away from their door step, and if you prefer a fitness studio or fancy one afternoon in a spa, we can highly recommend the Neptun Bad, a historical and beautifully renovated Jugendstil building in 10 min walking distance.
And one more thing: A bottle of wine as a welcome gift is included :-)
Any questions or wishes left open? We'd love to hear from you!
I came to Cologne for my first job over 15 years ago - and I still love this city (except maybe during the Carnival season ;-). I like reading (the latest Paulo Cuelho is absolutely great, just finished it), traveling, skiing and cooking, and if you are very lucky there might be an invitation to dinner. I live in the same house where the flat is, so no problem if you need anything.
