  • Delicious breakfasts, caring and considerate hosts who took great care of our parents. Thank you Janet & Richard!

  • Janet and Richard couldn't have been more gracious hosts. They offered to bring us breakfast and a bottle of wine. The guest house was cute and we enjoyed using the hot tub. There was a plumbing issue but Janet and Richard were quick to compensate us for the inconvenience.

  • Janet and Richard were incredibly kind hosts and made my 3-month stay so enjoyable. They've put in a lot of work decorating the cottage and making it feel homey. Also, the location is great, especially if you're really active since it's close to the Dallas Arboretum and White Rock Lake. I loved staying at the cottage and would definitely recommend staying here for anyone who is interested.

  • Janet is a truly kind and generous host. She made me feel so at home. After contacting me about my food preferences- she had an incredible breakfast casserole waiting in my space for breakfast!

I travelled to Dallas to participate in a competition at Dallas Opera, and Janet came out to support me at the performance! If you are looking for a cozy and comfortable place to stay- this is a great choice.

  • Janet is a lovely hostess. My husband and I enjoyed staying here. Had some good chats with Janet over breakfast, and met her friendly dog and cats. The guest cabin and adjacent little exercise studio are funky and cosy, with a garden setting pretty even in winter, with holly bushes, large trees overhead, and mockingbirds. There is a coffee maker, kettle, washer, dryer, microwave, and dishwasher in the guest cabin, along (email hidden)/heater and a bathroom heating unit.. This is a comfortable and casual place to stay. It was nice and quiet at night, no complaints there-the birds were quiet after dark. We had a rental car and commuted downtown daily-it is only about 15 min even in morning rush hour.

  • I was coming home for Thanksgiving, and was surprised to find no room at the inn. What to do?

I found Janet's guest house on AirBNB and it was right in the neighborhood I needed. Luckily it was a lovely fall weekend, and her yard had beautiful trees, so my friend and I sat on her deck and drank a glass of wine and enjoyed the vibe of the neighborhood. Janet arranged for me to have breakfast at a local cafe, which I totally enjoyed. Finally, Little Forest Hills is a lovely neighborhood! It's within walking distance of the Dallas Arboretum, which is one of Dallas' crown jewels.

  • This review was updated by the guest - Upon arrival we were greeted by Janet and loaded our (my boyfriend and I)
stuff into the cute cottage. First thing I noticed was that the windows
were open to air it out, which is always a great sign of a caring host. The
cottage had an overall cozy air and was furnished with everything you could
possibly need. There is also a washer/dryer in the bathroom!. We left very
early as we really didn't sleep and just wanted to go home. Janet had
arranged to feed us breakfast in her house, but we were well on the road by
that time. The futon was not a futon but a 'click clack couch'. When we let
Janet know how uncomfortable it was she tried it out and has already
replaced it with a new futon. Good points: Location Fridge Microwave AC
    Washer Dryer Skylights Janet

  • My parents really enjoyed their stay, thank you!

  • Janet and Richard are generous hosts who live in a pretty area although Dallas is a car-centred city so it's pretty hard getting around and the nearest buses are almost a mile away. When I stayed the studio/cottage was not available so check this is where you'll be staying.
