The space
This restored 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom bungalow is situated just outside of downtown Morrison, but far enough that that it has the feel like old school Colorado in the 1960’s. The entire house is tastefully updated with all the modern conveniences , all while still keeping its old 1940's charm. The spacious vaulted ceilings in the living room and kitchen give the space a airy, open feel and has a small backyard with patio seating. Enjoy a drink with friends in the living room, watch cable TV or Netflix on the big large HD TV, or cozy up by the gas fireplace when its cold outside. The large kitchen has refinished oak floors, birch butcher block countertops, a coffee bar, full set of cookware to make your own meals, and new appliances thorough out including fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and gas stove. The bathroom has been completely remodeled with vintage black hex tile floors, new white subway tile shower with all glass door, new fixtures throughout. Head out to the patio from the kitchen and enjoy the Colorado sun, soaring Osprey, views of Mount Glennon directly to the East, and nighttime star gazing. After a long night, head to any of the cozy bedrooms, which all have new Memory foam mattresses, dressers, a place to hang clothes, and blackout curtains for sleeping in after a good show. We also provide easy and safe off street parking for 2 cars.
The house is directly off Colorado Highway 8 that connects downtown Morrison to Highway 285. Note: You can hear passing cars and traffic during busy hours. Also, in the summer during events (not every night) you can hear the brief noise from drag cars from Bandimere Raceway (cool if you like cars) and also faintly hear music from Red Rocks (also cool, if you like the band, that is).
Ring camera:
We have a ring doorbell camera monitoring the front entry and parking area.
Guest access
The house is all yours! The property is shared so your space includes the two parking spaces, the house, and the fenced backyard.
Other things to note
Ring camera:
We have a ring doorbell camera mounted outside the front exterior door, which monitors the front sidewalk and driveway.
Pets:
Pets negotiable, please message the host or make a booking request to discuss.
Internet:
Our internet is fast enough to allow for the average work from home employee. This is a rural area, however, and there are occasional power outages due to wind and weather. XCEL typically repairs any issues within several hours. However, if your work from home schedule is inflexible, please be aware that it is best to be prepared and bring a hotspot with you, or familiarize yourself with the myriad options for local shared offices and private office rentals, to be used in the event the power is out for any reason. It is our intention to keep you safe and secure, but it is not within our power to anticipate unexpected power outages.
About the House:
This is an older house, newly remodeled, built during WWII. Interestingly, this house was built from old ammunition shell crates, made out of VERY strong Old Growth wood... the true strength of which we discovered in the remodeling process. We have done the best we can to add modern amenities and systems, however it is still an old house with quite a few 'quirks' (and character!). Please do let us know if anything is behaving funky.
About the Area:
Although we are close to Denver this is a rural area. We are tucked between the hogback and the hills. That being said, their are occasional animals around including deer, raccoons, snakes, prairie dogs, coyotes, and the occasional mountain lion. We have never seen any dangerous animals get into the yard, but please be aware of this. Also, this being a rural area comes with all the rural considerations including bugs (we have an ongoing pest control service to help limit spiders and bugs indoors but you may still see them occasionally) and occasional XCEL power outages due to wind and weather. We do our best to provide you all the information you need and facilitate quick remediation of all issues but you are the first line of defense in keeping yourself safe and keeping us informed of any issues.
Water: We are in a rural area and on a well and septic. Although the tap water is safe to drink and bathe in, it is hard well water. We have a BRITA filter jug in the fridge, plus a stand and jugs available for your use. We typically provide 1-2 x 5 gallon jugs of water, which you can refill at the grocery store if they run out. The septic system is sensitive so please treat it as such.
