Interaction with Guests
I live in a nearby house and interact with guest mostly on their initiative.
Trolldalen is the first summerhouse community in Sweden, built 1913, for people not overwhelmingly rich..:) . The atmosphere is charming and unique; the inner archipelago of Stockholms 30.000 islands
It is a nice walk of 20 minutes to the bus or 15 min by car to City Centre. You can also take a ferryboat to the Tbane, underground.
The woods has marathon trail, Lidingoloppet.
Other Things to Note
A peaceful Retreat Getaway
No smoking, no party business, no pets.
This was far and away the best place I've ever airbnb'ed. The studio cabin itself is positively charming, with excellent light and a generally cozy vibe. The bathroom is six steps away from the cabin, so it's a slightly rustic experience, but the cabin itself had a mini-kitchen, a good radio, and was well heated and comfortable. Hasse was an accommodating host and a real gentleman. The sauna on the sea is a very short walk away, and was as splendid as a sauna could be. Furthermore, the north side of Lidingo is a beautiful wooded neighborhood with lovely trails for easy hiking or cycling. As the location is slightly remote, it takes approximately 45 minutes to get into Stockholm, but if you are looking for a unique seaside experience not too far from the city, this cabin cannot be beat. Also, Liv's sculptures which are elegantly integrated into the landscape around the house, were an unexpected aesthetic delight.
We arrived at this unique little cabin in cold 7degree rainy weather. We had phone contact with Hasse who assured us the place was unlocked. It was very, very cold in the cabin and instructions advised us we were not to wear shoes inside or even put our luggage on the fragile floors! Two of the three heaters worked but did nothing to warm the place for several hours. We got a fire going in the small wood burning stove but had to pay the host 100 SEK for ten small pieces of wood! We never met our host but Hasse introduced himself and kindly provided coffee and cream for the morning. The location was beautiful and in better weather, we certainly would have enjoyed the water and outdoors. There were eight bikes on the property for use, for a fee. Liv's bio indicated we share backgrounds in psychiatry as well as art and it was disappointing not to have met her. But, the main purpose was a place to stay while we explored Stockholm and we were able to do that once we got the place warmed up! The bathroom was located across the lawn which was cold and wet during the rainy nights. There were more instructions on how to clean the fragile floors with special soap but to not use too much as it is expensive. We would never have considered staying here without our own vehicle. It is remote! We parked near the COOP and used public transport into the city and that worked well. In sum, adorable cabin, be resourceful and bring slippers!!!
We've spent a fantastic holiday in Livs cabin. It was peaceful and quiet, clean, cozy and we had everything we needed. It's a perfect place - far enough away from Stockholm to enjoy a peaceful relaxing holiday and close enough to be in Stockholm in little time. Thanks for having us!
Liv's house was perfect! Even better than expected. Closeby the sea and the center of Stockholm. You reach the center in a bikeride of 30 minutes. We could rent (not expensive) bikes from Liv. The house was clean en big enough fot 2 persons. Conclusion: we had a great time! Thanks Liv (and Hasse)!
It was so nice to stay in Liv´s and Hesse´s Studio Cabin! The closeness to Stockholm and the relaxed atmosphere in the beautiful garden make this place special. Mats enjoyed to play and to plash in the garden or the nice surrounding. Just a few steps and you can refresh in the water from the nice swimming base. We also used the sauna one time (beautiful experience just over the water). We can really recommend this place, if you are surching for a simple little cosy cottage, very closed to Stockholm and with beautiful jogging tracks just around the corner! Lidingö was the best place to combine nature and city....
Lovely place! We (three friends) were visiting during a heatwave and so enjoyed the swimming and hanging around in the garden. We did not meet Liv, though Hasse was always helpful when he was around. The walk from the bus station is a bit long if you have a lot of luggage, so I would recommend taking the ferry, which makes for a beautiful ride. It takes about an hour to go to the city center either way, so while being remote, it's also surprisingly central, being located in public transport zone A! We stayed for a week, and enjoyed it very much. Only criticism: The bikes that were offered for rent are in no condition to ride.

I am a Norwegian-swedish artist doing sculpture and animation film and photography. I have about ten larger commissions on public spaces in southern Sweden. ((website hidden)) I used to also work in psychiatry for many years. I share my house with Hasse +daughters and our two cats. Hasse is working on film animations. Our two sons have moved out and they are doing design for men-clothing,(www. (website hidden)). We have lived in the house in Trolldalen in over 30 years. The studio cabin used to be my artist studio. The writers cabin is quite new.
I love to read and write, to travel and live under new stars. I enjoy meeting people and believe all things happen for the best.
