The Space

Enjoy the charms and character of Savannah's Historic district while returning to the comforts of a modern home furnished and decorated with antiques. This is also a convenient location if you are traveling on I-95 and want an easy on-off stopover in the Savannah area!

This double room features a vintage bed with 1000 ct. Egyptian cotton sheets. This room shares a bath with another guest room which may or may not be in use at the time. If you have more than 1 or 2 people in your party you might be interested in reserving both rooms (see my other listing "Modern Comforts amid Antiques")

A bath private for the guest rooms is just down the hall. Bath linens and toiletries are provided. Maps of historic district and tour guidebooks are available for your use. Enjoy coffee or tea in the morning. Due to my work schedule I cannot always guarantee that I'll be able to offer something homemade for breakfast but can at least offer toast & jam.

Winter evenings will have you warming up to the glow of a fire in the wood-burning fireplace of the family room.

This is a pet-free home. As much as I enjoy dogs myself, I must potlitely decline hosting guests with pets in order to keep my home comfortable for those with pet allergies.

Located in a new neighborhood near the intersection of I-95 and I-16 in the neighboring community of Pooler, GA the home backs up to a quiet wooded area. You're just 15 minutes straight down I-16 to Savannah's National Historic Landmark district. Stroll the squares, visit Forsyth Park, enjoy the architecture, food, and history of Savannah.

Your host is a professional chef and director of a personal enrichment cooking school in Savannah's historic district. If you enjoy great food you might consider registering (email hidden) class where you can enjoy everything from learning the background influences of Low Country Cuisine to seasonal brunches, techniques for baking, and many other tasty topics!

Please note that due to my work schedule it is best to make a request or inquiry at least 48 hours in advance. Requests made for the same day may not be received in time to respond.

Getting around

My home is conveniently located near the intersection of I-16 and I-95. Perfect for those looking for a stop-off point when traveling north or south on I-95.

There is no public transportation from my area to downtown Savannah so a vehicle is necessary. The airport is about 5 miles from my home so it's also a convenient place to stay for early morning flights.

  • We had a great time at Darin's place. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located a short drive from Savannah. It was great to learn about his cooking school and we saw a lesson in progress which made us want to come back and take one next time we are able. Highly recommended.

  • Darin's home is beautiful and he is a great host. My friend and I, couldn't have had a better experience. We went down to Savannah for a friends bachelorette and his home was at a good distance from down town Savannah and offered us directions and gave us our own key to be in and out as we pleased and that was helpful! Will definitely, be back!

  • Darin has a lovely and clean house, unfortunately we were unable to meet him but he left lots of information about the area and instructions for the house were easy to follow. Would highly recommend him and his place. also within great driving distance of the city. Didn't have any problems.

  • Darin's place was extremely nice. It was like a really nice hotel, but it still felt like someone's home. He was also super friendly and just a genuinely cool guy. We only stayed for a night, but will definitely stay again if ever in the area.

  • I had a great time in Savannah at Darin's home. He is an accomplished professional doing really exciting things. He had interesting guests from France while I was there so I enjoyed the atmosphere, cooking, conversation and overall experience.

The room was lovely, quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend Darin's to anyone.

  • This place was everything that was promised. Stayed overnight driving from FL to NY and the location off of 95 was perfect. What was even better was the safe quiet location, and as Darin is a professional chef, the smells of real home cooked food were welcome AND he was willing to share!! Also worth mentioning is how CLEAN his place was, and there were little touches like small shampoos and soaps and lotions clearly intended for his air bnb guests. Very nice. If in the area would definitely stay again and would recommend to those either passing through, or exploring Savannah as it is a pretty quick drive.

  • Darin was a great host - welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed sampling some of his baking at breakfast. His home is very comfortable and relaxing after a day spent sightseeing downtown. We'd thoroughly recommend staying with Darin.

  • Staying at Darin's place was truly the highlight of our trip to Savannah. We were late in our arrival and Darin met us at the door and even helped with our luggage. His home is beautiful and extremely comfortable. He makes you feel welcome and likes you to feel at home. We would sit in the kitchen talking and watching him make bread or a special treat he was taking to church. He definitely has a gift of hospitality. Darin is an exceptional host and a "cut above" other hosts of places where we have stayed. The neighborhood is very nice and the drive to Savannah is only about 15 min. I would highly recommend Darin's place for anyone going to the Savannah area. That is where we will stay when we make our return trip.

  • Darin is a lovely host. His home is comfortable and close to all (by car). Most of all I loved the thick Egyption cotton sheets....amazing and connecting with Darin and the other house guests. I will be back. Many thanks.
