This is for a room in a house. The house is described as below.
House is on a tree-lined street in a safe quiet beautiful conveniently located neighborhood. House has well cared for hardwood floors, oriental rugs throughout and is quite clean, and it has a lot of character.
The location is super convenient. Near all amenities, including two grocery stores, a couple of small markets, a ton of great bars and restaurants, BART and Bernal Hts parks(with some of the best views of the City), as well as a few of great boutique shops or art galleries. It is a 10 minute walk to the very charming Cortland area and a ten to fifteen minute walk to 24th and Mission BART subway, five minutes walk to Noe Valley, Dolores and Church Streets. Also less then five minutes walk to J Church MUNI train.
The spacious bedroom has a walk in closet and bay windows with fresh paint. It's stylishly furnished with great couch and 1950's bamboo style shelves with matching desk. WIFI is very strong and fast in the bedrooms.
Home is a bright/sunny Mediterranean built in 1933 right in the heart of the Bernal Heights district. It's very near both Noe Valley and the Mission District. Lots of charm and character in this beautiful spacious home. It has a gorgeous working fireplace and an upright piano in the living room. Original Parquet hardwood floors. The kitchen has a lovely O'Keefe and Merritt stove and a quiet Viking stainless range hood, and a large stainless pro series frig. (You're welcome to make use of the kitchen if you like cooking.) The shared bathroom has a full tiled shower, a seperate tub and is tiled with sea-foam green tile from the 30's.
The backyard is filled with exotic plants and brownstone/flagstone hard-scaping with a fire pit. Bicycle storage included in two car garage below(car parking negotiable.) Street parking is hit and miss. As far as San Francisco is concerned parking is a breeze. But expect that you may have an extended search for a spot at times.
Bicycles are available to borrow.
Downstairs has separate unit with extra kitchen, bath and a third bedroom/loft and an office, but is occupied currently.
NOTE: I have dogs - The dogs live in the house. They are MY responsibility and they are extremely friendly and safe for children.
Let me know if you have any additional questions. I am always available to answer your specific interests and needs and I know a tremendous about the neighborhood and San Francisco and California in general.
Good luck in your search!

Scott's Home is beautiful to be honest. Its definitely a wishlist kind of home. He responded to my request very quickly and welcomed us within a few hours. The room was very clean as was all of his home. He had issues with his stove, but was kind enough to help us to the other downstairs stove. The location is good mostly for a guy. If you are a woman and not driving using bart train transportation and waking though mission late at night it can seem a bit scary with the strange people outside, but its not necessarily unsafe. Still the location is great. An easy 15 minute walk to the nearest bart and a 24 hour super market across the street. If you are a night person it can seem a little awkward at night as the home is so silent you may feel worried of waking someone else up, but if silence is exactly what you need by 11 pm its the perfect place. I would definitely stay there again in the future.
Remember all those great reviews about how clean the apartment was, how well located it is and what a nice guy the host was? I should just copy/paste them here. 11 of 10 would come back!
We stayed with Scott for almost 3 months and everything was perfect! The house is really cozy, confortable and with a furnished kitchen. Location is great, near to Muni (2 minutes) and Bart (15 minutes at walk), you can reach easily the main neighborhoods of the city. In 10 minutes you are on the top of Bernal Hill and you see an unforgettable view of San Francisco! Scott gave us useful suggestions about cafe, restaurants but also live music in the city! Our room was spacious, with a comfortable couch and a large walk in closet. In the morning, from the window of the bedroom we saw hummingbirds have breakfast with the flowers! At last but no least, in the house there are the two sweetest dogs in San Francisco: Spanky and Mr. Pershing: So, if you’re looking for a good place with lovely people, this is the right place!
Nice room in a nice location. About 30min from downtown by bus. Buses pass regularly nearby. No problems with the neighbourhood.
Christopher is a good host, though i didn´t have the chance to chat with him a lot. He did everything to make my stay easy and worries free...
We had a great stay at Scott's. He's a really laid back, easy to get along with host. The location is central to everything in SF, steps away from major bus lines, and only a couple of blocks from a BART station.
We loved staying right off of nearby Mission St with all of its great restaurants, bars, and vibrant culture. The room was more than big enough for two people, and sharing a bathroom really wasn't a problem. The house is clean and quiet. The two dogs are lovable and peaceful. I'd definitely stay at Scott's place when in SF again.
Our stay (my friend Jack and I) at Christopher's and Juju's place was great. Christopher wasn't there, but Juju was a perfect host, always friendly, helpful, and she did go out of her way to make an extra night possible, when it turned out that we needed to stay longer than anticipated. The place is friendly, quiet, very clean, in a good neighborhood, and the two elderly dogs are very well behaved. I totally would stay there again on my next trip to San Francisco!
It's a very convenient location to stay, even though sometimes it's hard to find a parking spot, you know it's expected in San Francisco. Everyone is very nice and helpful! It's located next to a supermarket and lots of bars! I enjoyed my stay!
Had the pleasure of two days with Juju as host since Chris was overseas. Great room & location
Although we didn't get to meet Scott, his friend Juju was a nice host and gave us lots of info and tips on what to do in San Francisco. The room and the house are as described, in a nice neighborhood, but finding a place to park the car is difficult! We had a nice stay and recommend it.
I stayed with Scott for about 3 months while interning at a Bay Area company. I found his house to be comfortable and (like the title of the listing) cozy. I especially enjoyed waking up every morning to light filtering in past the bushes and trees outside. Hummingbirds were a common sight. Clean sheets and towels were provided, as was the occasional serenade from Scott with his guitar. There are two elderly dogs, one of whom sometimes competed with me for space on the couch. The house is quite old and is decorated in a spirited style, which I liked. While I was there, Scott was gone traveling a couple of times, but this wasn't really an issue because the house was left in the capable hands of his friend, Judith. I shared the house with a French couple when I first arrived and later with a girl from Ireland. I think Scott said he likes to have interesting guests from other countries, so that might be a part of your experience as well if you stay there.
The location of the house is great. The nearby stretch of Mission maybe isn't the nicest looking, but I really appreciated the close proximity to the Mission and the easy access by bike to Valencia (through the Safeway parking lot), a veritable bike highway that you can use to go either downtown or to Golden Gate Park. The nearest Bart station is less than 15 minutes walk away, and it's an even shorter walk to catch a number of buses (the 49 is handy). It's also not far to walk up to the top of Bernal Heights, where you can take in an awesome view of the city. Parking, though, can be tough to find nearby. A few times when I rented a car, I would spend a good 15 minutes drive up and down nearby streets looking for a spot.
If you happen to be working for (website hidden) or Apple in the summer, note that buses for both companies stop nearby. Genentech is a little further.
Overall, this was a great place to stay while exploring San Francisco for the first time.
