Interaction with guests
We give advice on where to go,(some how to get in free),local walks etc, what the local pubs & restaurants offer in terms of food, at what prices, to suit all budgets , maps & leaflets to lots of places of interest , walks and attractions. But this house is also large enough to offer solitude if wanted. We have our own section of the house, including separate stair case! Most guests , find very relaxing, especially down by the river & also for writers etc very inspiring. The summerhouse, by the river with the views, has heating and light, hence why writers (both songs & the written word), have had long stays here & find it inspiring, even in the winter months.
Friendly, lots to do , very short walk to a local shop for supplies including a deli , which is open 7am-7pm and on Sunday 7-4pm & of course very lucky to be so well served with so many local pubs and restaurants as well as places of interest . Park for the children, including zipline! Such great amenities for such a tiny village. There are so many walks, over the golf course , around the Vineyard, up to Scotney etc, without even getting in the car. Bewl Water & Bedgebury, with its Go Ape only minutes away.
We recommend hiring a car, as buses are infrequent. Good train line at Frant or Wadhurst 8 minutes away & very good line at Paddock Wood & Tonbridge 10 + minutes away.
Other things to note
No smoking in the house, garden fine to do so.
No smoking in the house, garden only. All damages to be made good.
We have lived here for nearly 20 years and have enjoyed living in what used to be an old pub and still has many of those features. Main interest is theatre both on and off stage and heavily involved in what what goes on in the area. Enthusiastic cook and enjoys entertaining, always looking to have fun. Well that's Clive, probably time I added me!! I ran Lamberhurst Open Gardens, on July 6th. We raised nearly a thousand pounds for the church stone repair fund. I run a monthly Quiz, fiendish but fun & a cribbage evening. The stage is not for me, tried once never again!!! Couldn't even manage , being in the chorus for a British Legion show. But how would the thespians manage without us back stagers!! Learning to grow orchids. Also enjoying collecting Olympic coins, along with other types. I love reading. As you know we love entertaining, we love our wine & hold a yearly wine evening. So I am the one down by the river, wine & book in hand, enjoying Clive's food!!
