We enjoyed our week at your apartment. This was a great first experience for is with air bnb, and our thanks go out to Walter and Susan! We truly had a quaint week with full privacy. Happy holidays, and hopefully we will see you again soon when we move to the neighborhood.
The hosts replied to all of my e-mails immediately, sometimes within minutes. Although I only met Susan once during my week-long stay, I always felt that I was well taken care of. If you have a question on what to see and do in Philadelphia, just ask Susan. It might be good to know that the house is not located in the posh part of Germantown. The big mansions and villas are a couple of blocks away. Apparently the part to the West of the house in direction of the somewhat better served train station Wayne Junction is not a very good area and I was told to better avoid it. I used Queen Lane station for getting into town. The connection is good, but trains only go once an hour. Not a problem as long as you have the timetable (look it up on the SEPTA website or ask Walter). The house itself is a bit older as all the houses in the area, but everything worked just fine. The room has aircondition, but with the ceiling fan (much appreciated!) I hardly needed it. Overall good value accommodation.
I had a good experience because I was not bothered at all. I had my own space and felt comfortable. Walter kindly picked me up from the train station when I arrived and he tried to help me the most he could when I asked for things. Thank you.
Clean, well-equipped room. It was nice to have breakfast supplied! Very accommodating to my schedule and great communication before, during, and after my stay.
Wally and Susan are super accommodating. During this work/play holiday I felt safe and comfortable to come & go as needed. Wally's local recommendations were on point - verging on psychic. On this trip I had a rental car. There was plenty of street parking and I found it easy to get to all the places on my list.
Great place, they took us last minute and saved the day. It was a pleasure! Thank you guys!
I spent two months in the room in Germantown and I had a nice time. Wally and Susan are very nice, they really help where ever they can. With the other rooms in the house one can meet people from all over the world. Being able to use the kitchen is a great plus. In general all the given amenities are not common in airbnb. Here they are. Great!
There is a historic part in Germantown, which is worth to see. Beside that, the neighborhood is in the night not the nicest place, like all over Philadelphia.
Wally and Susan were wonderful hosts! The place was clean and comfy-- a great place to crash after a day in the city, and the hosts gave perfect suggestions on where to go in the city for first-time visitors. We were especially lucky because W+S were there on the morning of our departure, and they made us a delicious breakfast! Thanks guys!
Wally & Susan were great hosts!! Although I only met Wally briefly, Susan was very nice and picked me up from the train station. Even though they don't live there, they are very accessible. It was very nice to have cooking supplies and be able to prepare my own food. I had the whole place to myself while I was there, but note that to get to the shared bathroom from this room, you have to go through the kitchen and into the hallway. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend!!
A nice place to stay, close to the city. The room is comfortable enough, I stayed there for a week and was just fine. It's not five star but the people in the neighborheed are great. it's close to everything, and it's a great price.
