  • A fantastic experience, the couch on the upper floor is one of the nicest thinking spots in the world, and I was warmly welcomed by a genuinely nice host and family. If its available for your dates in Amsterdam, book it now before its snapped up!

  • This might be the best lodging decision I've ever made! Nothing beats the experience of staying in a houseboat in Amsterdam: the view from the houseboat is phenomenal, and it is so relaxing to be right on the water, with ducks and boats floating by! The location is a perfect balance: on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood within walking distance of shopping, food, and attractions as well as the metro and trams. We ate dinner at several restaurants right on the same street as the houseboat and they were great. Masha's recommendations were superb! The bed was comfortable, and having it downstairs made it even more cozy and quiet. The one negative thing is that the stairs are a steep spiral, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with children or mobility problems. Otherwise, though, it was perfect!

  • We had a nice stay on this houseboat. It´s a cosy apartement with a great view on the amstel. The landlord was very friendly. We had contact before our trip. She answerded quickly with lots of tips. There´s everything needed for daily live. The floor, table and windowsill were a little bit dusty. But that is the only negative point.

  • I really recomend stay in a boat, it's a pretty good experience. Masha was very helpful when we had have any problem. The place is very cozy, very well organized and confortable.
On the first floor (where you have the bed and the bathroom) you don't have any window.

  • The studio is well equipped and provides fantastic views on the river Amstel. It's perfect for a couple. Masha and her husband are great and helpful with all kind of information about Amsterdam. We came by car- that's a bit tricky because of the parkingsituation-parking is very expensive in amsterdam- if you go by car it's best to use the PR-system. The best way to get around in Amsterdam is by bike and we can very much recommend the Duende Tapas Bar in the Lindengracht. We had a very nice time and I'm sure we will come back!

  • The Houseboat is amazing. Close to metro station (5 min walking), tramway(1 minute) in a place easy to go downtown or parks around the canals. The view of the Amstel is awsome. Confortable place, fornitures, very good supplies and lovely hostess. Thanks for all.

  • Absolute gem! Right on the Amstel River and a short walk to Bikram Yoga and some really cool outdoor resturants and bars.. we rented bikes and nothing was too far. Masha went above and beyond for us to make our stay more enjoyable. Great value for money.. I will be back to stay!

  • Wonderful houseboat in a great location. Hosts were very nice, and accommodating. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique Amsterdam experience. (Many of the locals I told about it had never been in a houseboat themselves!)

FYI: The rental is a private studio apartment on the boat with it's own entrance. It's a good size for 1 or 2, but probably not much more. I also wouldn't rent it with kids as the spiral staircase to the bedroom is an open drop in one spot, and a bit tricky to go down. Everything you need is there though, small kitchen, private bath and shower, and good sized bed.

  • Excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. A fantastic place to stay. Quiet and peaceful with amazing views and perfectly situated.
    Thank you Masha !

About
I am Masha and have two kids Boaz (5) & Luca (3,5). I live on the Amstel for 8 years. First we lived at a real boat, a sailing ship. We were in love of this place because of the oase of peace & nature in the middle of the city. But because of kids coming the ship became too small for 2 kids, so we started to realise an ark, this took about 1,5 year. On the 1st birthday of our daugther Luca this Ark was shipped to this place and still we are enjoying and we even love this place more and more. I am a personal life coach, trainer and freelance project manager. My passion is to create indivudual, and social changes. More info about me & the houseboat: * (website hidden) * (website hidden)
