Bed and bath in exclusive SF neighborhood, near parks, Haight Ashbury and more. Easy access to bus nearby. Private entrance to lovely bed and bath, TV, laundry, Wi-Fi, free street parking. Complete privacy, no stairs and no worries about disturbing your hosts. Three day minimum stay.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood yet close to restaurants, shops and public transportation. Guests are expected to respect the quiet and refrain from loud music or gatherings on premises.
Close to famous Haight/Ashbury neighborhood, Golden Gate park. restaurants, shops, cafes.
Underground streetcar and many bus lines nearby. If you have a car, there is street parking but you may have to park a few blocks away. Parking is difficult and costly in San Francisco and you really can do without a car.
We interact as much or as little as the guests want. We find that most people value their privacy and meet us to ask about restaurants, etc. but do not expect us to take them around town or hang out with them. We are an older couple but love to meet new peopleand are happy to share our home.

Nice room in a very nice neighbourhood. Close to the Height-Ashbury area and public transit. Would recommend!
The neighborhood was very nice and welcoming. Even more it felt like home away from home.
During my travels to the US and Canada I stayed in quite a few places but this was by far the best room I stayed in regards to location, quality and value for money.
The room itself is in an Edwardian/Victorian(?!) style house and located in a quiet well-to-do suburb (the taxi drive even commented that it was a 'nice area'). Although it's about 25 minutes by tram /bus from the centre of town (Market st) the room is located just off Ashbury st which connects to Haight st (you'll walk past Jerry Garcia's house during your commute) where you'll have an large choice of cafes, bars and shops.
Admittedly I didn't have a lot to do with the hosts as I was busy seeing the city but the few times I did speak with them they were knowledgeable of the town and helpful. In fact I even misplaced my laptop charger (which I then found later -_-) but after about a day they do they managed locate a spare one which was pretty damned nice of them!
Overall I enjoyed my stay and I really wish I had an extra week here :-(
Great place in a safe area! Would highly recommend it.
Good location just a few blocks up from Haight. The room also had a washer/dryer which was really handy seeing as we'd been on the road a while.
On the down side, as others have said, the room was very dark and a bit musty-smelling. Not a massive problem for us as we weren't in much. It'd be really great if there was a fridge - if you're staying for more than a night or two its handy to have somewhere to keep a few bits.
Miriam was a good communicator and made check in easy. We didn't actually meet but she was prompt in responding to questions.
Myriam, the hostess was very quick responding and helpful with our needs. She was kind and made efforts to make our stay enjoyable. Her responsiveness was very appreciated because we needed a place quickly. She was also nice enough to let us use the washer/dryer. As others on this web site have indicated, the room is as in the photo, but much darker, and a bit musty. It lacks chairs and a desk. We were charged $10/day for cleaning but even the trash was not emptied after the first day.
Centraal, residentieel en rustig gelegen!
De verwarming speelde ons wel parten, viel niet af te regelen...
I had a very good stay at Miriam's place. The neighborhood is beautiful, safe, and offers many choices of restaurants and entertainment. It is close to bus stops and subway station. The room is as depicted: comfortable and nicely decorated.
Very awesome deal here. Private entry and private bathroom? Sold. Since instructions and communications were so clear, I did not have to meet Miriam and went along with my stay. Walkable to the Haight and overall, an awesome spot to stay.
Just want to warn you that I'm kind of OCD guys, so don't take my feedback too seriously, unless you have the same issues with sensitivity to the outer world.
The house is in very quite neighborhood, and there is very fresh air outside. However, if you are on a bike, keep in mind that the place is on a pretty steep hill.
The room seems to be comfortable but pretty tight at the same time. The ceiling is low. Since the room is in the basement, there is some smell of moisture, not very annoying, but noticeable. Bathroom is pretty cold in the morning, and the room itself too (until 6am, when automatic heating turns on).
Everything else seems to be ok, but not perfect. Didn't have a chance to meet hosts (I came late and leave very early), but it seems that they are good people and care a lot about their guests.
