About This Listing
My cozy 1920's Bungalow home is located in the lovely Concordia Neighborhood. It's 10 minutes to the airport and downtown. It is a few blocks to the vibrant Alberta Arts District known for its Last Thursday art walk. Aside from the art galleries, Alberta offers a variety of boutiques, shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Various types of restaurants include: Italian, Mexican, Thai, a French patisserie and even Creole/Southern food. Food carts a plenty! We are walking distance to "the friendliest " natural food market (New Seasons), a drug store, a movie theater at the esteemed McMenamins Kennedy School, a yoga studio, a video store and a huge park with an off leash area for dogs. We are just blocks from several bus and bike routes. There is plenty of parking available on the street or driveway in this quiet neighborhood.
The stairs to the top floor bedroom opens into an entryway room where there is an additional closet and a long chest of drawers before getting to the bedroom. There are double windows at both ends of the rooms that let in a lot of light. The rooms are private, but the shared living space includes: bathroom, living and dining room, kitchen, front porch and backyard, too. Relax on the sofas in the living room, watch a movie and warm up next to the wood stove or view cable and Wi-Fi upstairs.
I share the house with my wiener dog, Lucy. She loves having guests and will greet you at the door. Native of Portland, I’d be happy to suggest places to go in this up-and-coming city.
SInce it is a shared space my only concern during the work week is that it starts quieting down between 10-11pm (unless it's summer break!) in the main living areas.
I stayed at this place for 3mos for a rotation I did in Portland. The neighbourhood was very nice, close to a lot of cute shops and cafes. Jeanne was a good and accommodating host.
Jeanne is a wonderful airbnb host- a rare combination of being 110% there for her guests while also being totally laid back. It felt more like staying with a friend than renting a room. The top floor suite is exactly as described and beautifully put together. The bed is very comfortable, and my partner and I had a great time there. The two weiner dogs who reside in the house were an adorable extra bonus!
We had a wonderful stay in Jeanne's upstairs suite. The space was private, the bed was super comfortable and the furnishings and storage spaces were more than adequate. Jeanne was a fantastic host - with a wealth of great tips about Portland. She is an accomplished traveler and really seems to enjoy hosting. The location is amazing, with tons of great spots within walking distance.
I had a great time with Jeanne and Lucy. The location was very convenient for my wanderings, and Jeanne very helpful. It was so nice to spend three nights in one location, I got some much needed rest. I really hope to return to Portland - it was a fabulous visit.
Jeanne was a terrific host! The place was just as advertised. I highly recommend it.
Once again our stay with Jeanne was great. This is our second time staying with her. The accommodations were very nice and we enjoyed socializing with her. When our plans changed due to rain she gave us.great indoor activities ideas to try, This time we explored the Alberta Street area for food. The Pine State Biscuit place is amazing and it is in walking distance. Our other favorite feature of this location is the dog park only 4 blocks away.

About the Host, Jeanne
I am an ESL teacher that likes to travel sevaral times a year to foreign countries---especially the ones that my students are from. My motto is, "Eat my way through Asia, dance my way through South America. I have been very fortunate to have had my own home for the last ten years and to be able to trek around the globe, but now after numerous tenants and housemates. I am ready to start hosting other travelers from around the world. I enjoy playing soccer, cycling, dancing and cooking. I adore Lucia (Lucy) my mini dachshund and enjoy doing as much as I can with her. Davia, my other housemate has a wiener dog too (Lucy's bf), but they will be moving in Autumn. One of us is on site or can be reached if there are questions or maintenance issues. This summer I am updating/legalizing basement listing so there will be a few arranged appointments that involve noise/electrical work. I am also creating a craftsman studio in the garage...pictures to be posted soon!
