2014 marked the close of five years of hosting for Airbnb. This summer at the Cottage was a flow of remarkable, wonderful and interesting guests creating a community that I would not have imagined -- friends, collaborators and breakfast conversationalists. Thank you. I hope to see some of you in the summer of 2015.

The Cottage is a charming Cape Cod-style home on Martha's Vineyard and has two B&B rooms available for single or double occupancy for minimum 2-night stay. Located between Edgartown and Vineyard Haven it is right on the main bus route and bike path connecting you to the ferry or the two town centers. The quiet neighborhood and completely private beautiful cottage garden offer a chance to relax in the hammock after a day of sight-seeing and the large deck is perfect for a glass of wine before going off to dinner or just hanging out, whether for breakfast or during the day and evening. It is minutes away from Sengekontacket Pond where you can launch your kayaks! It is a 15 minute bike ride to State Beach and Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, Vineyard Haven and the State Forest are easily reachable along the beautiful bike path between my house and the towns, The main bus line runs right past my street! By late June, the gardens are up and blooming -- in 2012, a new butterfly bed has been added! The garden is designed as a haven for a variety of birds (including hummingbirds!) which you can enjoy watching from the deck or hammock. Each year, new additions are made to enhance its tranquillity and beauty. Fresh herbs are grown and used in breakfast dishes. Breakfast with guests is always a treat as interesting conversation spontaneously arises!
Wifi throughout the Cottage is available. Parking is readily available at my home.

Maximum number of guests downstairs is two. The UPSTAIRS TWIN ROOM will accommodate a third person. The spacious upstairs room/twin beds/shared bath ($95.00/night) has a sunny bathroom which is lightly shared with me. Interaction with Guests
Breakfast is usually a time for guests to visit together while I serve! Guests are welcomed to visit but I do try to leave you to as much privacy as possible.
Guests must be 22 or older. No excessive drinking is allowed and no smoking.
Please note the following:
We do try to practice environmentally positive habits. We hope it will not inconvenience you if we ask you to limit your showers to 10 minutes. We understand that it might be necessary to take even two showers a day after beach and outdoor activities and want you to be as comfortable as possible. Thanks for helping us in this endeavor! And please! try the outdoor shower -- fully enclosed with hot/cold water.
No food or drinks (except of course, water!) are allowed in the bedrooms. Please feel free to snack outside on the deck or at the kitchen table.
We ask that you put personal things away when you are out and to please hang wet towels and clothing in the bathrooms or downstairs in the dehumidified basement -- great for quick drying of wet clothes and towels! -- to reduce mold and mildew during the summer season.

Nancy Rose was very warm and welcoming. She was a very gracious host with a lovely home in a residential neighborhood in Edgartown. We enjoyed experiencing a little slice of how the locals live on Martha's Vineyard.
Nancy was a great host! A classy, elegent lady with little charming home only a few miles from downtown Edgartown. She was very accommodating and made us breakfast every morning (imports great Italian coffee!) Would defintely go back
Nancy Rose was very responsive and helpful with all our email contact planning our trip.
She was very welcoming and the accommodation was exactly as described.
We really enjoyed our wide ranging discussions with Nancy Rose over her excellent breakfasts and felt we really got to know her.
Her outdoor shower is well worth trying.
Thanks for a great stay and we hope to see you in Venice !
Nancy Rose was wonderful and the best host anyone could imagine. She made us a marvelous breakfast every morning and always made us feel as treasured guests. Her location is fantastic, the house is very neat and tidy, and the landscaping very well done. We would agree with what others have said here. All true!!
We escaped for 48 hours to MV for a late summer getaway and Nancy's cottage was a little slice of heaven. Everything was as described: cozy room, gorgeous backyard to relax in, fantastic outdoor shower, lovely host. No ferry availability so we took our chances and left the car on the mainland - bus stop is 2 minute walk from cottage and we were impressed by the ease of using the MV public transit system. (Added bonus: cottage is less than 5 minute ride (25 minute walk) from Felix Neck Audubon sanctuary - we enjoyed a morning kayak around the salt marsh and Sengekontacket Pond.) We hated to leave and hope our next visit will be longer!
I and my boyfriend had a great time at Nancy's house! She was welcoming and charming! She cooked us delicious breakfast in the morning and gave us a good advise on where to go and what to do on the island. Great host! Definitely will be back next summer!
Nous avons adoré avoir une petite conversation avec Nancy et de prendre notre douche à l'extérieur valait le détour. Les restaurants à quelques pas de la maison était très plaisant aussi. On y retournerait!

Our home on the Vineyard is a special place for guests who wish to enjoy the beauty and vitality of this incredible island. Instead of just 'the playground for the rich and famous," the Vineyard is a microcosm of America -- its strengths and weaknesses. Come and be a part of it! Until 2011, I hosted international students through my project. But, having enjoyed the guests who brought the world to my doorstep since 2010, I am now only hosting Airbnb guests as I enter my 5th year of hosting. And now, I'm able to share my beautiful home in an historic area of Venice with you! Please visit Spectacular Affordable Venice! Please come to this magical, historically significant city!
