Description

The space

THE APARTMENT:
Cosy 52sqm apartment in an old Modernist building (with its original decoration) in the core of the picturesque Poble Sec in the centre of Barcelona.

The apartment has two bedrooms (one spacious double and one single with a double sofa-bed), a living & dining room with another sofa-bed, bathroom, one fully equipped kitchen, a balcony and lots of sunlight (in the living room and the main room)!! Wifi Internet available and included in the price.

It is on a 4th floor without elevator, so stay away if you are not fond of stairs!! ;-) On the other hand, since the apartment is so high up, and faces the East, it is quite sunny, particularly in the mornings and early afternoon.

Our pleasant and welcoming apartment aims to be your perfect hideaway for your BCN seasonal stay… Ideal place for 2 or 3 people, it could welcome up to 4 people.

Note: the single room has no direct sunlight (window to the living room) and has a double sofa-bed. No central heating.

Good connections from the airport!!

THE POBLE SEC NEIGHBORHOOD, RIGHT IN THE CITY CENTER:

It is located in the core of the Poble Sec district, and old modernist and now trendy multi-cultural neighborhood with a unique atmostphere: you will find terraces, nice and varied restaurants, great little wine/tapas bars, local stores, pedestrian streets and cultural amenities.

From its pedestrian streets you can take a nice walk down to the main points of BCN’s old downtown: Ciutat Vella, with the Cathedral and historic streets and buildings or the Raval district, famous for its cultural diversity, nightclubs, museums of contemporary art and its streets full of charm. Both are just about 10 mins. walk away

Located on the doorstep of the Montjuic Mountain (Park), the ideal place if you love to enjoy some nature (and fantastic views of BCN!!) without leaving the city. Also a great location, if you are into running or any other outdoor sport activity. If you are the sports spectator type, check out the Sports Museum and the 1992 Olympic Stadium!! Montjuic offers also a wealth of cultural attractions such as the Miró Museum, the Etnology museum, the MNAC (National Museum of Catalan Art), the Caixa Forum contemporary art museum, the “Pueblo Español” , etc… along with the well known Magic Fountain of Montjuic.

NEARBY PUBLIC TRANSIT:
There are 2 metros within 5 minutes walking distance (Poble Sec metro station –L3- and Paralel•l –L3, L2-) and nearby many theatres which offer cabaret, musicals, comedy and drama. There are also plenty of buses to the beach and downtown.

Good connections from the airport!!

Towels and bedding provided.

Nothing too fancy but everything you need for a nice BCN stay: a big windows to balcony that let the sun in, confortable bed, everything for a good coffee in the morning...and all that in a lively and safe neighborhood!

Flexible time of check-in and check-out, just feel free to check it out with us. You can contact us in English, Spanish and German.

Luis was very nice and helpful, always there to recommend places to visit, or to eat, or anything we asked, the place was clean and cosy, and all that really made the trip to Barcelona complete.

Anton was one of the best hosts I've had. He provided good suggestions and tips. He was also very flexible with check in and check out times. The apartment is very well-equipped and provides a very authentic experience (Anton has a lot of books, music CDs, photos, etc.) The apartment is close to a street where you can find a lot of tapas and pincho bars that are very lively in the evenings with lots of locals. It also has quick access to transportation and walking distance (15-20 min) to La Rambla or Port Vell.

Anton, is a great host truly representing the image I had about Spain (Cataluna): smiling, available, nice! It was great staying in his place which by the way is walking distance to basically everything. The apartment is calm and you can enjoy a coffee on the balcony in the morning ! Thank you, Anton !

We loved staying at Luis's fantastic apartment. It was so convenient, 5 mins walk to the metro, 10 mins walk to Mont Juic or 20 mins to the old centre of Barcelona. Loads of great bars, tapas and delis close by, and quiet and secluded after a big day out, and set in a gorgeous old Barcelona building. Luis was lovely! He had loads of great information for us to enjoy Barcelona and even greeted us with a bottle of cava which was a lovely surprise. Great place to stay!

The host is very nice. Explained everything related to the flat and the neighborhood. Good for the price however needs improvement as there is no working washing machine, no freezer( just refrigerator), no iron or iron table, a lot of dust in many many places. There was some constructions in the morning in another flat that started 8:30. We were told not to answer the inter-phone calls as inspectors are trying to come because short term lets less than one month are not legal anymore via airbnb in barcelona. The host told us we are the one before the last tenants and he will stop but didn't inform this or post this on the airbnb advertisement before we paid not until we arrived at the flat which was stressful for us during the whole stay and this problem is already known for 2 years after we have done some research. The flat is 4th floor and there is no lift and the stairs are very steep. No heating beware in winter. Plugs in the rooms for charging phones or for the bedside lights don't function. Sorry for all the bad news but just to give an honest review and facts about the flat. If you are happy with all of this the flat is situated very near the paral-lel station and that's very close to the centre of Barcelona and you can commute easily everywhere. There is 2 min walk street with acceptable tapas restaurants which is nice to walk in at night also.

Response from Luis A.:
Dearest guest, highly surprised by your exotic review, which sounds more like a drop of malicious negativity in an ocean of 250 4.5 star reviews by the other previous guests rather than an objective statement. Also this flat is now for long-term stays. But if you really were about the facts then you might want to amend your views and consider the following facts: 1) The washing machine is perfectly functional: I explained to you that you just need to gently push the machine door after putting the clothes inside before pushing the start button. Sorry to hear...now that you did not manage to do that simple operation. Btw. I did my last laundry today and the machine works flawless. 2) Refrigerator: there is both refrigerator and freezer. Just the freezed remains disconnected (and the door sligthely open) for short stays as most guests have repeatedly said they do not need the freezer. But it can be easily connected just by pressing the “freezer” button on the main panel. Easy stuff. 3) No iron, no elevator, no central heating: you could go on and say “no swimming pool, no sauna, no heliport”. Exactly. Iron, elevator and central heating are not services that are offered as you can read in the services page in my ad. So there is not much point about complaining about services that were never offered. Maybe if having an iron or an elevator was a must-have for you... shouldn`t you have chosen an apartment that offers those services in the first place? Regarding the elevator issue, apart from the services page that clarifies it, my ad reads: “It is on a 4th floor without elevator, so stay away if you are not fond of stairs!! ;-)” You mean this is not clear enough? As for the heating, there is no central heating, but there are 2 space heaters available in the flat as needed which do the job perfectly along with the double glass doors and the wooden floors. Still, your comment is surprising, since you visited at a time where the wheather was still spring-like and more than mild. ??? I could go on and on about your twisted comments but it is not worth the time. I guess by now it is quite clear that for whatever reasons you never intended to write an objective and honest review. Too bad. Best wishes.
