The space
Restore and recharge in this cozy, romantic and dreamy cottage, surrounded by nature.

Each thing in the space has been chosen for its beauty and usefulness. There are big windows overlooking the fields and woods, a comfy couch, and a very cozy alcove to tuck into next to the woodstove.

The deck has comfortable chairs and is a great spot to listen to the birds, have a drink, read your book, and just be. Everything you need to make lovely meals is in the open kitchen, and there's a nice stool for one person to sit while the other cooks up some good stuff from our local farmstands.

The bed is plush and scrupulously clean... with lovely linens and two kinds of pillows. The bathtub is deep enough for a satisfying soak, and the bathroom is serene and lovely, with a window in the shower.

The cottage is very private, and at the same time, you will get a sense of the abundant beauty of homesteading life in Vermont with gardens, medicine plants, abundant vegetables, pastures, fields and woods just outside your door, changing with the seasons.

Please note that while you have abundant privacy and peace, the driveway is shared and you may see or hear others working the land.

We have a very special and extensive Area Guide we will share with you with all our favorite places to go in southern Vermont.

Note for guests who would like an extra bed: there is a very comfortable twin-sized organic mattress in the living room alcove. We can provide linens for you for this space upon request.

There are seven ski mountains within an hour, all quite a lovely and enjoyable drive, and lots of local xc ski trails (just ask us!)

> Mt Snow 40 minutes
> Okemo 50 minutes
> Magic Mountain 50 minutes
> Viking (XC)
> Prospect (XC) 1 hour)
> Stratton 1 hour
> Killington 1.25 hour

Pro tip: To hear what other guests have said about things that are important to you (key words like "clean", "bed", "noise", "privacy" etc.), just scroll down to the "Show all reviews" button and click on it - a search bar will pop up and you can search using key words to read unbiased reflections from past guests!

** Please note the firepit may be unavailable if our fire marshall declares a "no burn day" (unusual and rare) and our wood -ired outdoor tub is available in temperate weather only, usually late April through mid fall.

Guest access
The entirety of the cottage, front porch, and back deck are all yours and very private.

Other things to note
☽ Our outdoor woodfired tub is open only in the warmer months once all danger of freezing is over, usually May - sometime in October.
☽ This is a retreat in a quiet rural setting - think peaceful escape, not party :)
☽ This stay is on our family homestead, please know you will be sharing this piece of heaven with us and one other stay. You can click on "All Reviews" and then search for "privacy" to read other guests' experiences. We find that everyone coexists beautifully, with each a shared driveway but plenty of privacy on six acres, but if complete privacy is wanted our homes may not be the best fit for you.
☽ There is good WiFi, but no TV
☽ Washer and dryer
