The space
Restore and recharge in this harmonious and very comfortable Vermont cottage.

Each thing in the space has been chosen for its beauty and usefulness. There are big windows overlooking the fields and woods, a comfy couch, and a very cozy alcove to tuck into next to the woodstove.

The deck has comfortable chairs and is a great spot to listen to the birds, have a drink, read your book, and just be. Everything you need to make lovely meals is in the open kitchen, and there's a nice stool for one person to sit while the other cooks up some good stuff from our local farmstands.

The bed is plush and scrupulously clean... with lovely linens and two kinds of pillows. The bathtub is deep enough for a satisfying soak, and the bathroom is serene and lovely, with a window in the shower.

The cottage is very private, and at the same time, you will get a sense of the abundant beauty of homesteading life in Vermont with gardens, medicine plants, abundant vegetables, pastures, fields and woods just outside your door.

We have a very special and extensive Area Guide we will share with you with all our favorite places to go in southern Vermont.

Note for guests who would like an extra bed: there is a very comfortable twin-sized organic mattress in the living room alcove. We can provide linens for you for this space upon request.

We are Hans (a life long Vermonter) and Kathleen, who moved here from from Northern California in 2016. Between us we have four teenagers (two still at home), and have built our small farm homestead together over the last few years.

Our time is spent working on the land, growing food, building stuff, cleaning up after kids, animals and weedy gardens, and when we can, hiking, skiing, paddling and just being.

We share a vision of life as a brief and beautiful gift, and we both endeavor to practice presence, self care, and right action every day. We are in relationship with our beautiful land here, and we believe that caring for the soil, plants and trees creates an abiding and beautiful mutual relationship.

We offer two short-term rentals here, a cottage and a four-season yurt. We love to welcome visitors to put daily life down and re-set, restore, explore and have fun!
