We lived staying in Venice. Davide responded quickly to our e mails and was friendly and informative when we checked in. The apartment is amazing, very clean and with high quality furniture. It was amazing to look out and see a canal. We walked to all the sights from the apartment and the Arsenale line is close for those who prefer water busses. If you have a chance to stay here I recommend it.
If you want to enjoy Venice, and not have to live in 'tourist central", Ca'mare is a great place. Situated in Castello just east and walking distance to San Marcos square, but far enough away to allow us to feel more like locals.
Davide was kind enough to meet us at our Arsenal vaperetto stop on the canal, and walk us off the beaten path to this lovely flat. There is a nearby bakery for daily fresh bread, a green grocer, and several restaurants just a stones throw away. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the window of the kitchen and the living room open right onto a small canal. We were fortunate to stay there when there was some kind of outdoor music performance in the nearby square. Fun!
While there, we did a photography tour and our photographer/guide whose job it was to show us a hidden picturesque Venice, took us right in front of the flat. He was very impressed with our location.
The flat is clean, and there is very little in terms of amenities that is not already there.
(I think we had to buy some soap). There are two WC's, but only one toilet that takes solid waste, which is also the same bathroom that contains a really nice shower. Coming from California, and a terrible draught, it was nice to pamper myself a bit.
The decor feels like a hipster just inherited an amazing flat from a great aunt and is slowly making it cool. The kitchen and bathrooms are upgraded with modern fixtures. There were great touches throughout intermingling with relics that felt like they had been in the family for decades.
We were very comfortable and would come back and stay at Ca'mare without any hesitation.
The apartment was perfect in every respect. Close to the boat stop, quiet, characterful and brilliantly located for exploring Venice. Davide was a great host, meeting us at the boat stop and introducing us to the area and recommending restaurants etc.
Davide was very welcoming. The unit was as advertised, with a wonderful old world charm. The neighbourhood was great, away from the crowds, but close to the vaporetto stations and the grand camel. There were some good local restaurants and shops. I would recommend this apartment.
Davide met us at the boat station and guided us to the beautiful apartment. He provided an online map and some suggestions for local shops and restaurants. The apartment was well appointed, quiet at night and very clean. The location is perfect if you want to be away from the tourist crowds, experience a bit of local color and still be only a 15 minute walk from St Marcos Square.
The apartment was amazing. The street and neighborhood were perfect for our needs. We would absolutely stay again!!
Davide's place was amazing. His wife met us at the taxi stand and took us to the house. When we got there, Davide met us and had a map with local restaurants, shops, and touristy places. He gave us an excellent dinner recommendations and even set up a private water taxi for us to get back to the airport the next day!

About the Host, Davide
We are a Franco-Italian couple, which has been living in Venice for several years now (we precisely live at the Arsenale, Castello district).
We adore Venice; we like to eat (it’s really easy in Venice…we can recommend you very good restaurants). We are passionate about culture, art, music and our Venetian boat (a Sanpierota of 8 meters) but, above all, we are two tireless travelers (we too !).
We rent several apartments in the heart of Venice that we have to complete management. We will be honored to welcome you and provide you the best advice to enable you to spend unforgettable moments in the Serenissima.
