The Flag Ranch is a delightfully reimagined 1954 homestead cabin on 2 1/2 acres, marrying vintage Americana with modern design sensibilities, in the community of Landers. It offers long panoramic views of the Mojave Desert — including stunning sunsets from the large covered porch.
The space
The property is only 20 minutes to Pappy & Harriet’s, 25 minutes to the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and five minutes to the Integratron. Best of all, it is just one mile to the High Desert’s favorite restaurant — La Copine (featured in the New York Times, Vogue and Eater LA).
Presided over by a World War I-era Old Glory flag, The Flag Ranch was designed by Doug Wiand Design (HGTV, House Hunter Renovation, etc.). Featured are two generously sized bedrooms, a large eat-in kitchen, and views from every room. Outside is a four-person Jacuzzi-brand hot tub, propane barbecue and propane fire pit.
PLEASE NOTE: We recently changed management of The Flag Ranch and consequently "lost" our review history - hence very few reviews are shown. However, The Flag Ranch has received 75+ five star reviews, many of which are highlighted in the last photographs featured.

• CLEANING FEE
As the top Professional Management Company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards and have been able to keep our rates low while still paying a living wage. 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. Please note that the cleaning fee is two fees, the cleaning fee and the linen fee. The linen fee is actually an insurance fee but Airbnb makes us list it as “linen” that fee covers any accidental guest damage to the property as well as any guest injuries. More information about the added damage and liability insurance fee can be found in the house rules.
• ROADS
Please make sure to follow the directions so to avoid getting stuck in any sand pits. The roads to the property are all paved except for the last 2 city blocks are maintained dirt roads.
• A/C & Heater
The Flag Ranch is cooled and heated by mini splits in each room to keep you comfortable all year long.
• PETS
We loves pets and are really happy they come, please see the house rules for additional information. We do recommend though that pets be supervised or preferably on a leash at all times when they are outside. There are coyotes, hawks, vultures and owls to name a few that hunt for food in the desert and we want everyone to have a safe and relaxing trip.
• FIRE
Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no outside wood burning fire policy. If it is discovered that you have started an outdoor wooden fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire means your rental agreement will be terminated and you will be asked to leave.
• WASHER/DRYER
HOUSE has a washer and dryer available to guests that are staying with us for an extended period of 3 or more days. If you are traveling with an infant or young children please let us know and we will give you access to the laundry room.
• HOT TUB - legal
1. Swimming pools and spas, while providing exercise, recreation, and relaxation, also can be dangerous. People (as well as pets) can be severely injured or drown if the pool is not properly used. Guests are strongly cautioned that they, other occupants and guest's guest must adhere to the following safe practices:
• No diving into the pool or spa
• No intoxicated persons may use the pool or spa
• No one should use the pool or spa alone as there is no lifeguard on duty
• Children may never be left unattended when they may gain access to the pool or spa, not even for a few seconds.
Neither the host nor the host's agents can assure the safety of persons using property containing a pool or spa. As a consequence, guests assume liability for pool and spa use by themselves, other occupants, their guests, and their pets.
2. For this rental the following must also apply:
• Adult supervision is required for anyone under the age of 14.
• All drinks must be served in unbreakable containers.
• No excessive noise - please be considerate of your neighbors.
• Users must shower prior to using the pool and spa.
• Use the pool safety equipment only in case of emergency.
• The pool maintenance person comes on Thursday to make sure everything is clean and working properly.
3. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK
4. Guest agrees to release, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge Host and Host's employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities or causes of action of any kind that guest, members of guest's household or guest's guests or invitees may have at any time against Host or Host's agents resulting from guest's use of the pool and spa.
• GUESTS
You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests.
By renting this property, guest acknowledges that they have read, understand and accept the terms listed above, including the guest policy.
