A spacious, bright and private houseboat, overlooking the water and typical 'old school' Amsterdam canalhouses. Comfortable and warm during wintertime, with a special terrace for the summer, it has all the comforts of an appartment, combined with the romance and thrill of living on a typical Amsterdam canal.

Perfect getaway for two, or for two adults with a larger child. Also excellent for (extended) business visits. There's one bedroom with a double bed, one extra (pullout)bed in the living room, a large open kitchen with all amenities and a small, comfortable bathroom. Dishwasher, microwave, oven and washing machine all available.

Located in a quiet living area near the town centre, near several shopping areas, café's and restarants.

Easy to reach by car as well as by public transport. Over seven different tramlines will take you to different directions of the city. With the town centre, the Jordaan, Leidseplein and the famous Vondelpark at walking distance, you'll have easy access to museums, clubs, shops, fun café's & restaurants.

Easy access to all other parts of the city as well. Westerpark (for PICNIC, Fashion week, or other events) is quickly reached by tram, bicycle or - if you wish - by car. The same goes for the RAI congress centre.

Whethere it's winter or summer, whether you're looking for a romantic hide out, are here on business, or searching for an opportunity to learn more about living in Amsterdam and its creative culture and people: this is an ideal place for a try out!

  • We had a really lovely stay on Liz's houseboat! The boat has everything you need and Liz was very helpful when we arrived, giving us lots of info.
The location of the boat cannot be better -- it is very quiet (the only thing that you really hear are ducks and birds on the water), and it is located in the nicest part of Amsterdam, we think. Within just a few minutes walk, are pretty canals with small shops, cafes and restaurants. Just perfect.
Our favourite part of our stay was the terrace. We sat outside every morning (at least 1-2 hours) and watched the world go by.... in this canal, it is mainly the ducks and birds, and perhaps 1-2 boats a day. Very nice :-)
We would highly recommend Liz's boat to others!
Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed on the houseboat for 3 nights and 4 days, it was one of the best places I have ever stayed, so peaceful, the boat is furnished beautifully and Liz had left amazing fresh flowers in every room! The houseboat is in a great location with beautiful views of the canal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a romantic trip. Liz was great and provided us with all the information we needed and left us lovely wine, crackers and waffles. Very special place to stay. Thanks Liz!

  • I was looking to take my girlfriend away for a surprise weekend but wanted a weekend away with a twist. I came across Liz's houseboat and immediately knew this is where I want to stay. What better place to live in Amsterdam than on the beautiful Canals and in a beautiful houseboat.
Liz was the perfect host, kept great contact, left us a lovely welcoming spread of cheese, wine and biscuits as well as all the maps, guides and insider information tourists like us would need.
The Boat too was stunning, clean, tidy and modern and located perfectly in walking distance of everywhere. We would definitively stay here again and I can't recommend Liz enough to anyone looking for the perfect Amsterdam experience.

  • My husband and I stayed at Liz's houseboat for a week to celebrate our mutual 50th birthdays. Liz is a very gracious hostess and her houseboat is everything described online. It's perfectly located to take advantage of all Amsterdam has to offer. We did not take public transport once the whole week - we were able to walk everywhere. Staying at Liz's houseboat truly lends to the whole Amsterdam experience and we can highly recommend her houseboat experience! We will definitely be back to Amsterdam and would not hesitate to stay at Liz's houseboat again!

  • Liz Baars beautiful houseboat on Dacostakade, is the perfect base from which to launch a cultural Amsterdam experience. It is a spacious and light filled home. Liz has decorated it beautifully with a tasteful mix of old a new, antique and modern heavy and soft furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped. Especially so, if you are an avid coffee drinker. We visited in January. The heating system is excellent and this meant that the place was cosy all the time. The location is very quiet, there is next to no car traffic on the street beside the canal. It is very much a residential area. So, it is lovely and quiet. You will sleep like a baby and wake to the sounds of Coots, Geese and the occasional Grebe, lazily sailing past the windows. We walked everywhere. It's perhaps a 20 minute walk to Central Station. No more than 10 to the centre of the Jordaan. Similar to the Museum District and the Vondelpark respectively. However, if you aren't in the mood for walking, a 1 minute walk has you up onto a Main Street which is well serviced by trams and buses. Liz gave us lots of advice on restaurants and getting about. She left plenty of guidebooks and maps for our perusal. The houseboat was also spotlessly clean. Liz gave us the WiFi code. Additionally, there are several very nice cafes, bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We couldn't recommend Liz and her houseboat enough. We would go back, as a couple without our kids, tomorrow if we could! Thanks Liz and thanks Amsterdam.

  • We had a great stay at Liz's house boat. This is the way to stay when in Amsterdam. We're extremely grateful for Liz moving out of her home with only a single day's notice, as we only booked it the day previous to our arrival. Gets my full recommendation.

Hi, my name is Liz, and this houseboat has been my home for eight years now. I love: being on the water (whether living, sailing or surfing), Amsterdam, design, art, architecture and fashion. Why am I renting my place out? I have been travelling and working abroad for a while and I'd like to keep on doing that, during which time you are welcome to rent it and enjoy the experience of living on the water.
