Our cosy yurt is situated in a secluded corner of our large garden, which has access to the Forest of Dean. The yurt has a wood burner and is insulated with thick yak's wool - perfect for colder nights. There is a very comfy double and a pull out double sofa bed which is great for kids.
A shower room, with electric shower, hot running water, and a flushing toilet is 20 meters from the yurt, as is a small kitchenette with hot water and power.
Outside there is a fire for cooking.

The space
We are in a quiet hamlet a mile from the nearest village, and from the yurt you can walk directly on forestry tracks into the Forest of Dean. All the forest has to offer is a walk or short drive away.
The yurt looks over rolling farmland and is nestled in a quiet corner, surrounded by trees and mossy ground.

Guest access
The yurt has a private shower room inside a nearby barn, and a small kitchenette with fridge. There is a covered eating area and an outdoor fireplace. We can provide a small portable electric hob and oven if you need it.
There is private off road parking for guests.
For safety, we ask that guests do not go into the storage sheds or fenced vegetable garden.
The yurt is situated in our garden, but has a private feel as you cannot see the house from the yurt and all facilities are self contained. We are happy for guests to use the garden and feel at home while being safely socially distanced.

Other things to note
COVID19
The yurt will still have beds and furniture but we will not be providing bedding. We feel that it will be too difficult to ensure that duvets and pillows are properly cleaned between guests.
If it is impossible for you to bring your own blankets and pillows, please let us know in advance and an additional £20 fee will be added to the booking (fee for professional laundering - if booked before March 2020 this fee will be waived).

Other precautions
We will be operating a socially distanced check in. You will have your own parking bay for one car with separate gate. We will be available to guide you to the yurt but will remain 2 meters away. Sanitising hand wash, sanitising spray, and cleaning cloths will be available in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Mattress protectors, throws, and the shower curtain will be laundered between guests. Pillows and duvets will no longer be provided (please bring your own or contact us to arrange bedding). Towels can be provided on request.

Hilly site
The yurt is on a steep hillside. There are steps into the yurt and please be aware that the terrain may be challenging if you have difficulty getting around.
Access by car is on a steep forestry track.

Autumn/Winter
The yurt is very cosy with the woodburner on but it is outside, and it is a yurt! You will need to venture out to walk to the bathroom or use the cooking facilities.

The site
Constantly improving but has some imperfections (less than picture perfect fences and sheds); true country life.

Peaceful, quiet, and perfect for star gazing, and literally situated on the South Eastern edge of the Forest of Dean. We have regular visits from deer, owls, and voles, as well as the usual squirrel and small garden birds. Sometimes you can hear wild boar snuffling in the field next to the yurt.
