The Space

Treat yourself to a fabulous and fun kayak ride through the famous houseboats of Sausalito, and see Mt. Tam in all its glory. Paddle around the mega yachts , see the smelly sea lions resting on the docks of Sausalito. This is truly a favorite activity of the locals and visitors! It is only 4 blocks from my house and part of your benefit of staying here! You can also use my bike for free and bike to MIll Valley or Tiburon and have a great brunch! My house is close to the beach, over 15 great restaurants, walk to the ferry, to San Francisco, do yoga on paddle boards, or try Muir Woods , only 15 minutes away! Great gift for a birthday, anniversary, or simply a great get a way from all of life"s stresses. I also give sailing lessons or simply a sail. $ 50. per person, per hour. • Staying with Dianne felt like staying with a friend who just happened to live in a very special place! On the way there, the cab driver was regaling me with stories of the "old Sausalito" during the 1960s when it was an artist's colony. Then when he dropped me off out front, he looked up at Dianne's "chalet" and said: "Like that!" And indeed, it does have a really artsy feel. Also GREAT view and the very best shower ever! The shower alone is worth booking here!

  • What a beautiful house and a gracious hostess! Dianne was warm and inviting and even had coffee and granola for me in the morning.

  • Dianne's place is fantastic, like a small swiss chalet in a Mediterranean landscape, with beautiful view over the port and easy access to the beach. The house itself is cosy and nicely decorated, and Dianne shared a lot of good advice and made us nice breakfast! Definitely would go back there.

  • Wonderful experience! Dianne was a delightful hostess, engaging, friendly, knowledgeable about the area, where to go, how to get there.. etc. Her home is a delight-I had morning coffee on the deck overlooking the bay and it was just divine. My room was cozy, cheery and fun. I'll be back for certain!

  • This is a charming place to stay and your hostess along with the view are "charming."
the location is perfect for a trip to Muir Woods or Stinson Beach. Or you can hop on the ferry to San Francisco.
My wife and I enjoyed our three night stay.

  • Stayed with Dianne for the weekend and had a lovely time. Dianne was an excellent host. She gave us great restaurant recommendations, baked us banana muffins in the morning and even offered to take us sailing. Her place also has a spectacular view. Would love to return sometime soon =)

  • Wonderfully quiet and peaceful place to stay nestled up on a hill with beautiful views of Sausalito. Dianne was very pleasant and respectful. Would stay here again and would recommend it to others as well.

Hi everyone! My name is Dianne and I love living in Sausalito. I enjoy everything about the outdoors; sailing, kayaking, rowing, hiking, gardening, biking, you name it. Also love playing dominoes and backgammon. As a native San Franciscan, I've enjoyed every moment of living here. Traveling the world is my passion, with Italy at the top of the list. Lago di Como and Villa D'este have a special place in my heart! I love teaching women how to sail,(so they feel competent and confident) and now teach couples, families, corporate bonding on my sailboat. I have sailed the Caribbean, Hawaii, Greek Isles, San Francisco Bay, the South Pacific. I also take children out sailing who have cancer, and their families for simply a fun day, to enjoy, and get away from it all! I graduated from UC Berkeley, and have affiliations with Marin Rowing, University of Washington,( especially the crew team) and with the University of Oregon and USC. Send me a message with any questions you have, and I look forward to hosting you at my Sausalito home. Ciao!
