This was my first airbnb experience, and I have to say, the bar is now set really, really high! Tony and Janet were lovely, the room was just about perfect, and the neighborhood was excellent. Five stars.
Tony and Janet were fabulous. My plane was late, and they were totally great about that. They had provided excellent directions to me to take public transportation which I did. I wish I had gotten a cab from Davis Square -- it's a lovely walk but not with my giant suitcase! Without the suitcase on the following two days, I enjoyed the walk from the T. (And good ice cream in Davis Square.)
The house is beautifully restored in the original style -- really down to the details. Janet made me feel right at home, toured me and showed me the tea and fruit for the morning. They have really made this like a charming "hotel" for a guest -- with a hair dryer, extra towels.
I had a lovely time with tea out on their deck in the morning. I spent two nights. Tony was back in town when I was leaving, and they allowed me to leave my suitcase there while I did my business in Boston, and then pick it up that evening.
I've stayed in about 5 Airbnb places worldwide so far -- this is probably the nicest so far. Thank you Tony and Janet!
Tony and Janet were very warm and welcoming hosts. Their home is even lovelier than the pictures show, spotlessly clean and we are very much missing our breakfasts of homemade granola and yogurt. It is an easy stroll to Davis Square which has lots of lovely bars, restaurants and deli's and a quick ride on the red line of the T to get downtown. We spent a wonderful week in their home and thoroughly recommend them.
This was my first Airbnb stay, and it was a fabulous experience. Tony and Janet were friendly, welcoming and generous with their space, their kitchen and their time. The room and home are immaculately clean, and the location (very close to the Tufts campus and easy walking distance from the T) couldn't have been more convenient. I only wish I had found about them about three years earlier! Many thanks to Tony and Janet, and I hope to stay with them again.
Janet and Tony made me, my husband, and my parents feel incredibly welcome during our two-night stay. My parents were visiting from the South for my graduation in Boston, and I wanted to find them a place that didn't feel too overwhelming, but also gave us easy access to the city. This was also my parents' first experience with Airbnb, and Boston, and I desperately wanted to find something that would work for them and us as whole (graduation times can already be stressful).
Janet and Tony were able to comfortably house us, provide an amazing breakfast, which was varied to accommodate various breakfast needs/desires, and interact with us warmly during our time in and out of the house. Their interactions with us made my parents feel very comfortable in their home, and they raved at what a wonderful place it was to stay, including the location.
After we left on the last day, I received a message from Tony stating I had left behind a personal journal, and he offered to mail it to me so that we wouldn't have to travel back to their house. It arrived at my house two days later.
Thank you so much for everything, Janet and Tony!! Your home and family are wonderful.
