Welcome to our guest house located 200 meters from the famous Jemaa El Fna square, in a typical and quiet street in the medina of Marrakech.
We have the possibility to acccomodate you with one room but also your whole family or friends by making the entire riad at your disposition at a negotiated price ... do not hesitate to contact us.
This is the story of our Moroccan adventure:
We are from Belgium and we acquired our Riad in August 2006 ... We fell in love immediately.
The house had already been renovated by an Italian architect a few years earlier, but still needed some upgrades and repairs (airconditioning and so on).
So we began to renovate it while preserving its unique style of old century home. We therefore used the materials and applied the techniques of yesteryear to renovate and develop the riad: carved ceilings, tadelakt walls, zelliges (moroccan tiles) floors, antique furniture, copper sinks ...
As a result our home has found its luster of the past with a few changes though: installation of air conditioning (hot / cold) in all rooms and a Jacuzzi built in the small patio on the ground floor ...
Today, the house can easily accommodate 6 guests thanks to its three double bedrooms. (the fourth room is reserved for our housekeeper who takes care of the house and our guests).
Welcome at home, welcome in Marrakech, and ask us your questions about your stay. We are at your disposal to help you organize your holidays (tours, car rentals, guides, restaurants ...)
Yann and David
PS. all our prices include : free wifi and free breakfast (Orange juice, coffee or tea, bread, croissant/pancake)
Upon confirmation, we will propose you two solutions to come to our nice riad :
- or your negotiate a taxi on your own at the aiport. You will then meet Fouzia on the Place Jema El Fna. She will then come with you to the riad (200 meters further)
- or we can arrange you a pick-up at the aiport.. The driver will then wait for you at the Arrival terminal and will drive you to the riad...
We spent 5 nights in this Riad in Marrakesh. We had some very nice days, this riad is so cozy and very central!
Fouzias fresh orange Juice she made for breakfast, was a real good start for the day! :) The roof-deck is perfect to relax a bit in the sun after walking through the busy souks..
Thank you for that nice experience, we'll come back soon! :)
The riad is nice, clean and very well located: just 10 min walking from the square. We had all the riad for us (5 people): a very good solutions for a group of friends or family. Yann is very helpful and sent us all the informations we need. Thanks Yann!
Yann's place is a peaceful and classic riad to relax and refresh yourself after spending your day in the vibrant medina of Marrakech. We were met at the Jemaa el Fna by his lovely housekeeper that led us safely through the narrow streets of the medina. She also served the most delightful breakfast to us in the morning, a gesture highly appreciated by us. Yann also provided very useful tips on where to enjoy ourselves in the city, and if you have any desires to explore more of Morocco while in Marrakech he can help you arrange different kinds of trips.
If you are going to Marrakech I can strongly recommend staying at Yann's beautiful riad. One thing to be aware of for the sound sensitive and light sleepers is to bring a set of earplugs anywhere you travel in Morocco. The sounds penetrate much easier in the airy Moroccan architecture compared to modern sound insulated buildings.
On the plus side: Perfect location and beautiful rooftop terrace. Good breakfast (tea, coffee, orange juice and a sort of Moroccan pancake). Yann responded promptly to our many questions and queries.
The downside: The house was VERY cold at night, especially the room in the basement (some wooden windows did not close properly so the house is not very well isolated). We couldn't get the gas heater in the living room to work, nor the aircon in one of the bedrooms, so the only solution was trying to compensate with some human warmth. And some of the towels were not exactly clean.
If those minor maintenance problems were solved, we would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay with a great location. Would stay again!
Beautiful riad located in the heart of old Marrakech, comfortable and cozy! Yaan was quick to answer any and all queries with a last minute booking.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
The Riad is at the heart of Marrakesh, excellent location. It's a very peaceful and comfortable riad, I loved it. There was a lady there that made us breakfast in the morning and also helped us with a few questions about the city. But although I liked the riad very much, it was the city that I didn't like. There was way too many tourists and people trying to sell you stuff, it can get annoying. Some people will even grab you and your clothes because they're so desperate to sell you something. There's many police around so that was good. I used them a few times to ask for directions and they were very friendly and informative. Overall, great place, just keep your guard up when you're at the Jema al fena square.
This was an amazing place. So central it was 2 minutes walk and you were amongst market alleyways that connect to the main square. I would highly recommend it. Very accommodating and they helped us organise days tours and airport transport. Thanks again.
Lovely apartment with a perfekt location
A nice Riyad in a fairly well hidden corner of the Medina, with a good amount of natural light and well functioning services including wifi. The caretaker (Fouzia) was very accommodating, as was Yann, and the food offered for breakfast was good, if simple. I can also recommend Yann on the basis that he responds to emails/texts very quickly, which makes planning your stay on airbnb much easier.
