What a great place to stay! If you get a chance to treat yourself with this experience. It was everything I wanted. Just off the beaten path enough to let you really experience Hawaii. Brad was extremely friendly and offered great advice on things to do, sights to see and just ways to enjoy the island.

We were greeted like royalty with signposts with our names on it. Accomodations and directions to the plantations were excellent. Very clean and well looked after. We enjoyed our stay and the plantation.

Overall, if you like community camping, you'll think these are luxury accomodations. Brad was very flexible (unattended checkin) and very hospitable (plenty of fruit and coffee), making sure I had everything I needed. Contrary to the listing and reservation, I stayed in the Dolphin Cottage. Biggest difference is the Dolphin cottage doesn't have an attached bathroom. The Dolphin cottage private bathroom is across the deck, past a little kitchenette common area. If you like your privacy, then be aware that your bathroom with screen windows (curtained of course) is within direct earshot (like 15 feet) of the neighbors cottage that also has screened windows to their living/sleeping area. Again, if you like camping next to strangers, then this will suit you very well. Thankfully the neighboring couple occupying the Whale Cottage were long-term visitors and were quiet, pleasant, and easy to get along with, even shared a grilled breakfast with me. Very cool. The accommodations were comfortable, especially the bed. Everything was clean including the bathroom. My only complaint were the ants and earwigs in the bathroom and bedroom but there's not too much you can do except keep all food (including fruit) sealed and put away. Thankfully I didn't have a mosquito problem (just keep the cottage door closed). Next time I would try and find a place with fewer bugs inside the living areas. They do exist, even in remote parts of the island.

It was wonderful experience. Brad and Linda upgraded us to the Honu cottage. It was our paradise when we enjoyed closeness to the nature without compromising comfort of civilization. Our neighbors - geckos were entertaining but the same time very quite and respectful. The hosts were very generous and shared with us all the beautiful fruit which surrounded us and delicious coffee. The place is perfect ,very clean and comfortable meeting the highest expectations. Elizabeth and Derek

We loved our stay at South Kona Coffee and Retreat. Brad was extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. The accommodations were very comfortable, especially the bed. Outdoor kitchen has everything you need; room has mini fridge, coffee press and toaster. Super clean. Waiting for us was a bag of their very own coffee. The location is great for trekking around the area and when you are back at the cottage, it's quiet and secluded. It's a beautiful drive through a winding roads and small town centres. Although the bathroom is not in the room, it's just around the corner and is private. Great spot!

That is just a gem! I had a wonderful time and Brad was a great host. The wonderful smell of the coffee was the first thing i noticed. The perfect place if you want to leave the big island the country way. The bed was so comfortable!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights Nov 9-15. Brad was very welcoming and had lots of good ideas for things to see and do localy. The bathroom is in a seperate room attached to the bedroom. The bathroom has a nice open feeling which we enjoyed but the shower was impossible to maintain any constant temps. The kitchen area is nice and it is outside with a nice grill and kitchen utensils and dishes. This kitchen is shared with the other cabin that is right next door. This was a bit of a surprise. If your looking for lots of privacy this may not be the place for you, if theres a couple staying next door you can hear them talking and in order for them to get to their bathroom they have to walk right through the shared kitchen area. When you have the area to yourself it's awesome! The cabin was small inside but had a big comfy king sized bed, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and satelite tv. More than enough amenities to be comfy. We really enjoyed the macadamia nuts and kona coffee and fresh fruits right off the farm. Delicious. This place is 45 min away from kona. Overall we really enjoyed staying here, the area is really nice. Mahalo Richard and Jen, (URL HIDDEN)Richmond BC
