The space
Guests have called this cottage "soothing to the soul" and "an ideal place for a personal retreat." It has been recently renovated with the goal of serenity and comfort in mind. Fernwalk is ideal for two individuals or two couples who want a bit more quality and impeccability than they would find in the typical vacation rental or cabin. The kitchen is first class with tile floors, granite counter tops, and plenty of tools for the chef. The bedrooms are plush carpeted and beautiful hardwood floors adorn the living spaces. The gas log fireplace makes romantic moments effortless and the house safe if you decide to go out. We've been told our rate is excellent considering the high quality amenities.

Guest access
Guests will enjoy the entire 1600 square foot cottage, 2 porches and large deck.

Other things to note
This house is pet-dander free for those with pet allergies. A wheelchair and guide-dog friendly room is available at the Hartzell House B & B next door.

There are plenty of good books, DVDs, CDs and games, so if the weather doesn't cooperate, you can still have a fabulous time! And of course, there is the cruise line quality foosball table in the basement. If you have questions, we welcome your calls prior to or during your stay.

Neighborhood highlights

The village of Addison is a peaceful and historic village, wonderful for after dinner walks. It's also the location of the Petersburg Tollhouse, built of stone in 1835, and an overnight stop for the wagon train that travels the historic National Road every year during Old Pike Days. Fernwalk is close enough to Route 40 to make it easy for Friday night arrivals after a long week. There are no long twisty turny dark roads in unknown territory! And... it's close to Youghiogheny Lake for fishing and boating, and the GAP Trail for walking or biking along the Yough or Casselman Rivers!

Fun fact: I lived and worked in Utqiagvik Alaska.
Who am I? Others view me as a people person -- one who has the capacity to calm and support others, and one who cares deeply about others. I value integrity, nature, learning, heartfelt communication and purposeful living. I am at home walking in the eastern woods; I love swamps and streams, and find exploring new places exciting. As a guest, I am clean, quiet, and appreciate those unique touches that make a home special. Being the owner of a small but upscale vacation rental and occasional innkeeper myself, I have admiration for the commitment it takes to competently own or manage rental property -- or host guests. Philosophically, at a level we don't always tap into... I see us as all one. Look inside that deepest part of your heart-centered self and you will see me. With gratitude, Beth
