About this listing

If you want to have a very memorable holiday, I can aim to find a spot on the ocean for you! Hobson & Faria are both incredible this time of year, warm sun, sparkling water... but it may be a little chilly at night so prepare for making fires!

Description

The Space

Awaiting you is a real Ventura Adventure--enjoy the beach and our seaside community full of artists, local events and activities, or... simply relax and do nothing!

2 night minimum or stay a lil longer in a comfy 1955 Jewel Travel Trailer! Choose your location! Fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves (in Ventura) or the sound of owls in the nest of Ojai! All the comforts of home in the great outdoors! Memory Foam Mattress, Big Vintage Cooler, Fire wood included!
Add-ons include bikes, boogie boards, thai massage, yoga, meditation, firebuilding skills, I'll even cook for you over a fire! Leave feeling re-juvenated by simple living! We just added a nice dome tent for two (so you can expand your party) with another memory foam mattress!

Ventura Beach campgrounds are close to the Amtrak station and I'm happy to shuttle you to and fro. We are also right on the beach bike trail in most of our beachside locations, and Ventura makes a great rest-spot (close to town for any amenities/quick trip to the thrift for things you may need for your trip!)

Please Note! It seems camping is VERY popular these days! This summer is off to a very busy start... I highly recommend inquiring about WEEKDAY stays as the weekends are not only impossible to guarantee but it's also a LOT more tranquil when weekenders, families with little ones on scooters in the parking lot, and RV's on top of each other-- it's a bit less, CHILL. Holiday weekends are VERY competitive but if you book and stay at least two days before the holiday, we can more than likely get you a seaside campsite! Here are a few of our favorite spots (one is in Malibu, the other Carpenteria!) Check out the websites for more info or ask for a suggestion!
Faria Beach Campground:
I love this spot because it has hot showers and an amazing campground cafe! They make great coffee and fresh baked treats! (website hidden) $34 campground fee.

Hobson Beach: Another beach campground with hot showers and amazing Burritos made to order! If you pre-pay for your Burrito A.D. will bring it to your campsite! $34 camping fee. Reservations possible during low season/winter.

Emma Wood Campground:
This one I love because I can really get into primitive camping (mind you, while enjoying my creature comforts.) During most of the year, you will have lots and lots of campsites empty! That means more peace and privacy! $40 camping fee here. (website hidden)

Point Mugu:This one is just outside of Ventura County in Malibu and you will step right out of the trailer and onto the sand! It's along PCH so it's a great stop off as you head north or south!
and (website hidden)

Everyone loves Ojai ... Lake Casitas has wildlife as well as a lot of fun things to do... like a water park in the summer! You can also rent a boat on the lake... soooo peaceful!
(URL HIDDEN) hidden)/casitas/casitas_camping.html

Please note: Campsites run between $27-$48 above the trailer rental fee. (the higher price is if you would like electrical hook-ups for more light at night and if you want to perhaps make margaritas in a blender! : ) If you are interested in staying, please enquire about special offers for longer stays!

I'm happy to give you a tour of Ventura, the arts scene and our beautiful neighboring town of Ojai!

I usually take my cue from the guests themselves. I am comfortable setting it up and not meeting/greeting, but I am also quite happy to share details, stories, cook you a meal over the fire, or teach you! (for a bit 'o extra cash, when I can!)-- I'll help you find your way, both at the campground, in town and beyond! Explore our lovely bike trail with me and we will be fast friends!

If you have bikes, it is a few miles ride back to town for an array of restaurants, thriftstores, and galleries, etc. If you'd like to rent bikes from me, just let me know!

“Welcome Home!"
(your little home by the sea, that is!)
Here are some-- details, details…to make your stay easy peasy...

Finding stuff…Go ahead and look around --you will probably find what you need. Feel free to use anything--i.e. towels, sunscreen, hats, costumes
: )

Kitchen:
Stovetop: If you'd like to use the stovetop, you will find the propane tanks on the trailer. Turn BOTH knobs on, and please do remember to close the valves after cooking! Your nose, knows-- if you leave it on, you will smell it! Please be ultra aware of this important tip! You will see that 2 out of the 3 burners work!
• There is a fire extinguisher, but let's hope to never have to use it!
• *Please don't burn candles inside..… it's just too risky.

Dishes: Please leave your dishes in the plastic bin or bucket outside. If you are feeling really energetic, you could put water in the bucket but don't feel you have to do the dirty work--(you are on vacation!)

Lighting/Electrical:
You will find that we run the electricity from a battery. The light above the dining area is the go-to light as it's always connected. You can also connect the inverter to the battery (positive to positive/negative to negative) so you can charge cell phones and plug in string lights, ipods, speakers, etc.

Towels/bedding: Feel free to use towels. Please aim to leave as much sand on the beach as possible, but of course, there will always be sand! Beds are most comfy without sand in the sheets, so do wipe your feet before diving into the covers! You will be glad you did! Extra blankets in the closet!

Funstuff! There are art suppliesbooks, costumes and and other fun stuff in cabinets and inside the little non-working sink . Also, some costumes, instruments and other relics to unleash your inner child! As we say in Circus Yoga, “Now Must Play!"
