A perfect base for trips to Petra and Wadi Rum.
(Please note: We are located in Aqaba, Jordan and NOT in Eilat, Israel.)
The room is part of Darna Village Beach Hotel & Dive Center, located 50 meters from the Red Sea and some 12 kms from the downtown of Aqaba.
The room has 3 single beds with bedsheets and blankets. Towels are also provided.
Amenities in the room:
Tiled floor, 1 wardrobe, 1 desk with a chair, mini-fridge, air-conditioning and private bathroom with hot shower, toilet and handwash basin.
The hotel's facilities include swimming pool, sunbeds, a'la carte restaurant, free parking, dive center and free wifi around the swimming pool.
The dive center offers PADI dive courses, discovery dive for un-certified divers, guided snorkeling trips around the beach and full eguipment rental.
Transfer from Eilat border and Aqaba airport can be arranged after making the reservation, as well as transfers and private guided tours to Petra and Wadi Rum.
The snorkeling and food were great, but lots of remodeling and no hot water were unfortunate struggles. The hosts are very, very kind and helpful
Overall, the place was OK. We've lived in Jordan on and off for 8 years and we are looking for a reasonable priced place that we can return to...we both walked away not convinced that this would fit that need. The accommodations were fine and the room was clean. However, the service was 2 stars at best. We will probably try a different place next time. Our room was not ready when we arrived (confirmed 12 noon arrival) and we were not offered to store our bags and go to the pool or anything. We drove back into Aqaba (10 minute drive) and returned 3 hours later. I would rather stay in a 3 star hotel in the middle of Aqaba. I suggest looking into other options.
