Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
A modern, artistic retreat home in a peaceful wooded setting. Quiet private grounds and parking. 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, large open area great for get togethers, work station, or fantastic meals. 8 minutes to San Marcos, 40minutes to Austin, 30 minutes to Wimberley, 50 minutes to San Antonio. Perfect get away with friends and family, floating the river, or events at the university. Fantastic kitchen for those who love to cook.
No children under 12.
We love animals, but NO PETS please.

The space
The grounds are home to birds, deer, and other wildlife. You may hear the chickens happily clucking or crowing in their coop across from the Vacation Station.
The kitchen is stocked with tools to cook gourmet meals. Light breakfast items are provided for our guests. There is a gas grill available for cookouts. We also have a large outdoor kitchen and stage special events (upon request/may be an extra charge).

The Vacation Station is on the property of Eye of the Dog Art Center and the grounds and studio buildings are not open to guests. You will, however, have the front and backyard of the Inn to relax and enjoy time with friends. There are large decks up and down stairs as well as a picnic table. Your view off the back deck and bedrooms invites you to enjoy several acres of wooded natural wonders.

Guest access
Large front and back yard of the house. Large upstairs and downstairs balcony/porch with small table and chairs.

Other things to note
The Vacation Station is on the same property as an active art center. There are events that happen at the art center throughout the year that make the grounds busy. We will let you know if you are booking during one of the events so that you can plan appropriately.

Our neighborhood has three other wonderful Air B & B's within walking distance, so if your group is larger than we can accommodate, with advanced notice, we can connect you with other places to stay.( The Potter's Cottage and Tree Haus & Studios) We are right down the road from Dharma Ranch( yoga and meditation center.) 10 minutes from the Texas State University, Bobcat Stadium and downtown San Marcos & the San Marcos River. 15 min from shopping at the outlet malls. Close to fun things, but rural and quiet. Lots of stars, wildlife, woods and flowers.

Beverly and Billy Ray are the directors of Eye of the Dog Art Center in San Marcos, TX. The Inn at the Eye is a guest house on the grounds of the art center. While we are very popular with artists, we welcome anyone wanting to stay in a peaceful creative environment in a rural setting. We are working artists, love animals (although no animals in the Inn.) We have a wildlife sanctuary on the grounds and lots of birds. Everyone working at the art center is friendly but we respect your privacy and desire for a relaxing stay. We live on the grounds, but do not "drop in " unless you request assistance .
