The Space

Great place for laid back travelers who want a place to relax. there is a nice hot tub in private backyard for skinny dipping. House is full of charm and in an historic neighborhood near downtown Atlanta. I am about 15 minutes from the airport by car or train. The (Marta) train stop is a 5 min walk from my place so no need to rent a car if your flying in out of the city. The room is large and furnished. Free wifi and cable TV You are just minutes away from downtown Atlanta Attractions Ga world congress center, Ga Dome, Turner Field, Ga Aquarium, Coca Cola Museum and lots of cool bars and places to eat some good southern cooking. I am happy to show you around.

Also each room can sleep 2 people and the living room can sleep 2 so if you need extra rooms let me know

  • Tim welcomed me despite my late arrival and was a very gracious host. Everything is plenty clean and the bed I slept in was extremely comfortable. I got there late and was out very early, but if what you need is a good, clean, comfortable bed, a bathroom and a few clean towels, I'm not quite sure how you can beat a value like this. Thanks Time!! Oh yeah, and Alvin is a pretty awesome little dog who -- if you're looking for company -- will definitely hang out with you, so that was cool!

  • Pros:
The house and room are nice enough - I didn't get to check out the back yard but Tim's done a great job of decorating the entryway and giving each room it's own theme. For the price, you're getting a good deal.

The bathroom is connected via the hallway and to this room so there's no way to really lock your door. That's not so bad, but the bathroom itself doesn't have the best water flow. The shower is *very* low pressure and the toilet needs to be flushed several times to clear.

Whereas the immediate block that the house is on seems fine, the general neighborhood is pretty rough and getting home after dark definitely had me a bit on edge. The house doesn't seem to have outside lights (or at least didn't have them on) and was pitch black on my arrival leading to a sour first impression.

The house has a cat and its hair gets around. The bed had cat hair on it which I'm slightly allergic to, so I was a little bit itchy. If you have cat allergies stay away!

There was a slight hiccup in my stay which was one of the other house guest's faults, not Tim's, so I won't let that affect my review too much.

  • Just what I need while I was there for a week. Tim even picked me up at the MARTA stop when I arrived! He had a lot to share in terms of the area and the real estate market.

I am a very relaxed and easygoing and open minded guy looking to host people and make new friends around the world. I have always wanted to work in the hospitality industry since I was a kid it was a dream of mine to own my own bed and Breakfast. I lived in my home on Tift Ave for almost eleven years. I have hosted many friends and travelers from around the world in my historic home. Now that I found out about Air BNB, I am opening my home to you. I now have four properties close to downtown Atlanta two in historic Capital View neighborhood and two in Historic Adair Park neighborhood. they are both very close to downtown and walking distance from the marta train station and bus stops so Its very easy to get around the city without the need for a car. Several of the homes also can be booked entirely for larger groups.I also have many hostel spaces available great for travelers on a budget. I love to share travel stories drink good wine and eat good food. I like almost anything as far as food goes and red and white white alike as well (email hidden). I really don't have any major rules just be a polite guest as I will be a great host and even show you around if you need me to. I also love the outdoors and know some great places to hike in Atlanta. I also love to cook, drink wine or beers and eat good food and have a Nice large kitchen for you to make yourself at home in as well as each house has a great private backyard and fire pit and large front porches, The house I live at on Tift Ave has a hot tub that's great for skinny dipping and also has 3 cats and a small dog you will love. My other properties do not have any animals unless a guest happens to have one.
