Interaction with Guests
My wife Olive and I are both local to the area and are available to provide any help and assistance as required.I was born in Ballyshannon and other than a few years away I have lived all my life in this area.We have intimate local knowledge and can advise visitors about the off the beaten track places.
We live beside the cottage so visitors can have as much or little access to us as they require. While our own four children are now adults we have grandchildren living close by. While the cottage is not suitable for young mobile children because of the steep stairs to the lofts we can provide a travel cot and highchair for babies and we have a supply of children's toys and books.
There is convenient public transport to Ballyshannon, but not to the cottage.
We will collect guests without their own transport from Ballyshannon.

Hi Anthony and Olive! We are back home in the USA, but we sure are missing "our" cottage. Thanks for all the little things you did to make our stay so enjoyable. The comfort of the bed was terrific, the stairs leading up to the bed loft were very easy to navigate, the Christmas decorations were such a nice touch, loading our fireplace to keep the warm fire burning was appreciated, as was the endless supply of peat, coal, and wood! Thanks for the yummy loaf of bread, the jug of milk, the blackberry and apple jam, the butter, the eggs, etc. We loved the cottage comfort and central location as we explored local destinations. You were so helpful to us in many ways. Thank you so much!!
We had a really nice time. Anthony and Olive are very nice, great hosts. Everything what was listed in cottage description is true. Cottage is nicely decorated, cosy, all what you need is there.
The nature is beautiful. We were walking a lot admiring the ocean, beaches , cliffs. Anthony advised what to see, where to go. I am happy we visited the Slieve League and enjoyed the beautiful view. Also cannot forget Rossnowlagh beach and the marvelous ocean view from Smugglers Creek Pub during the drinking hot tea. The time what we spent there was the real relax.
Many thanks :)
We had a wonderful time at Anthonys an Olives "Seaside Cottage".
It is lovely furnished, and you feel homy right away.
Anthony and Olive have been perfect hosts - gave a lot of tips, took care for us, even gave us staple food arriving un a holiday.
We can definitely recommend Staying in Seaside Cottage - we love to come back one day!
We had an excellent time at Anthony's cottage. The cottage is a short walk from the sea, and near a number of nature walks. It's also a short drive away from some great surfing beaches. It's very secluded too, so it's perfect if you just want to get away from it all. The only thing is that you will definitely need a car to get there and travel around the area. Definitely recommended.
We had a wonderful welcome from our hosts and arrived late on Friday night to a toasty cottage with two peat-burning stoves blasting out heat. This little haven absolutely lives up to the photos and the description and we slept like logs in the very comfy loft double-bed with absolute silence all around. Olive has done a beautiful job tastefully decorating the cottage with her personal touches and artistry and even though we had a clear agenda of what we wanted to do (surf at Rossnowlagh, even though we're beginners, and to climb Slieve League and see the cliffs descend into the sea below), Anthony and Olive were there to assist us if we needed any further information. We arrived home late on Saturday evening after dinner at the nearby Smuggler's Creek inn to find a pot of blackberry compote which Olive and Anthony made that day having been picking blackberries from the hedgerows. We had a wonderful break from the madness of our daily lives and we look forward to returning now that we've found the perfect place in south Donegal.
Anthony and Olive are perfect hosts. As you can feel instantly stepping into the cottage they love to make people feel comfortable and homie. Open minded and highly engaged they are both deeply involved in cultural life and community circles, so they can give you a lot of insider clues and recommendations about sites to visit, special events and hidden treasures of history.
Right next to the Atlantic shore in Creevy we enjoyed beautiful walks and the calm of the cottage, watching million stars blinking from a very black sky in the night. We loved to make friends with people from the next city and even the freespirited pets and farm animals have been welcoming us warmly and with open hearts.
We have been honoured to stay in the cottage as the first Airbnb guest of Anthony and Olive, but we are very sure, there will be a lot of guests coming. We hope to return in future, too and deepen our wonderful experience and share it with friends and family.
We like to send greetings and many thanks to the Travers!
