About this listing

Big bright room with private bathroom. Our home is a very comfortable charming Victorian terraced redbrick cottage near the centre of Dublin. It has lots of character and period features and is on a pretty, calm and quiet street in the up and coming area of Broadstone less than fifteen minutes from all the action and hustle bustle of the city centre.

The space

The room is a large bright space downstairs with a bathroom for your exclusive use in our family home. We live in a great part of the city, a quiet, very pretty Victorian street with the city centre on its doorstep. The house has recently been renovated, so it's very comfortable, bright and warm. The bedroom is a large room with period features such as a high ceiling, fireplace and a wooden floor. It also has a sofa, a very comfortable double bed with a quality mattress, bookshelves and a piano!. It's a really quiet room, perfect to chill out in and get a good night's sleep! We do not have any pets.

The sofa in the room could easily accommodate a child and I can provide a cot upon request.

Guest access

There's a full kitchen & dining area for your breakfast use. There is excellent free wi-fi. There's a bathroom down the hall from your room for your exclusive use.

This area is full of cool cafes and restaurants to suit all budgets.

You can make yourself at home and help yourself to tea / filter coffee. There is a shelf in the fridge full of with breakfast goodies for you to help yourself to as well as a selection of cereals. Please just ask if you have any requests and I'll try to get it for you.

Interaction with guests

I love to travel and meet new people but completely understand if you'd like to have some downtime - so you can have as much or as little interaction with us as you prefer!

I've prepared a list of all my favourite local spots, from funky cafes, to the best sandwich shop, to parks and of course the best most authentic pubs - I love giving tips / spilling secrets!

Aoife and Clara were great hosts for our first stay in Dublin. They were friendly and Aoife offered many great suggestions for pubs, restaurants, and fun things to do around the big city from a local's perspective. We enjoyed the quiet, quaint neighborhood that was within walking distance to several pubs, or a short cab ride away from the city center. We also really appreciated the detailed notebook of information on her home and city that Aoife left in our room. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our trip to Ireland. The house is on a quaint residential street that was nice to come home to after a busy day in Dublin. It was only a 15 minute walk to downtown and there's lots of transportation options. Although we weren't able to meet Aoife and Clara, Aoife left us a binder filled with GREAT recommendations for all sorts of experiences. We'd definitely stay again!

Aoife was not able to be home when we checked in, but she made the process incredibly easy. Her home was clean, inviting and comfortable. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and Aoife was very kind to give us a bottle of wine to toast with for our celebration. We were able to walk from her house to downtown Dublin to see all the downtown attractions which made it very convenient. We definitely would recommend this quaint place to any traveler headed to Dublin. Thank you Aoife...cheers!

Just got back from our Dublin-trip, and we are so happy, that we chose to stay at this hosts home. Aoife is extremely kind and caring and immediately takes care of your problems and does everything she can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Definitely recommended! :)

I've actually never stayed in a private room through Airbnb, so I wasn't sure how it would be. Aoife made our little family feel right at home. She gave us both privacy and help; it was the perfect balance. Her home was so clean and close to EVERYTHING.

We had a fantastic stay at Aoife's home! I would highly recommend booking if it available during your trip. Public transportation is very close, but many points of interest are still within walking distance. Make sure to checkout Aoife's recommendations for bars, the last one will not disappoint you!

Hi I'm Aoife and that's my daughter, Clara. After years of great travels around the world meeting great people and seeing amazing things, it's time for new adventures for me: namely, being a Mum to Clara and being a host to travellers to my beautiful hometown of Dublin. Look forward to meeting you and spilling a few secrets of Dublin's hidden gems!

Clara and I are really enjoying being Airbnb hosts. We love having people in our home and like our guests to have a home from home experience. Some of our guests have said it felt like they were staying with friends, which is exactly what I was hoping for!
