Description

The space

A unique contemporary property with outstanding views. The house is situated in a tiny village with good transport links.

Stromeferry is an ideal base for exploring both the Isle of Skye and this part of the Scottish Highlands. We are sited in a good place for those following 'northcoast500' - especially if an extra day for exploring the Isle of Skye is on the agenda.

The seashore is a few minutes walk away. Woodland walks nearby and lots of wildlife on the doorstep. We are regularly seeing a seal popping up and down in the water, also dolphins infrequently visit the loch and their movement is clearly visible from the house. There are boat trips in the area and we will happily recommend something to suit your plans.

Breakfast offers a chance to try some cheese from our local dairy, the freshest of eggs from our own hens, home-made bread and jams as well as a selection of fruits and cereal.

Guest access

Bedroom, private bathroom, outside seating and gardens. Breakfast is served in our dining kitchen.

Interaction with guests

We enjoy welcoming guests into our home - we are happy to answer any questions and give advice to make the most of your holiday.

The neighborhood

Stromeferry is all about the view.

Early mornings during the spring and summer months are truly stunning.

Getting around

A car is best for touring this area and we are situated only a few miles off the 'NorthCoast500' driving route.

There is a small train station in the village (a 2 minute walk from the house) and the trains run 4 times daily in each direction.

Other things to note

Late arrivals are not a problem.

While we love babies and children, our house is not 'child-proof' and we accommodate a maximum of two guests

If your dog is happy to sleep in your car, you are welcome to take him to enjoy the garden and surroundings. It is possible to park directly outside the guest room.

Well what can we say? Hands down the easiest 5 star rating we have ever given. Kathleen and Julian are wonderful hosts. There home is beautiful and staying here whilst visiting the area is highly recommended. While we were there we visited Skye and both Kathleen and Julian gave us many fantastic tips about what to do and also about where to eat in nearby Plockton. The room and bathroom were unique with double height spaces and lots of lovely natural light flooding into the rooms. The breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread, cereal, pastries and eggs fresh from the hens outside! It really was a delight to stay here, to get to know Kathleen and Julian and walk around the houses amazing grounds. We will definitely be back one day to visit Applecross! Thanks again for a truly memorable experience!

Kathleen and Julian are spectacular hosts! From the minute we drove into their place (which was perfectly easy to find), we were warmly welcomed into their home. They offered us tea and homemade shortbread (delicious!) and sat down by the fire to chat and enjoy the amazing view of the loch. The private room looks right out towards the loch and surrounding hills/mountains and has a skylight above the bed to gaze at the stars when it's clear. The bathroom has a gigantic, luxurious soaking tub with spay hose and skylight above. Everything is so clean and very tidy. On a clear night we were able to see a sky full of was brilliant! They said you can even see some of the northern lights on occasion. They go above and beyond to make your stay great, including a wonderful breakfast! Highly recommend The White House for your stay!

We were blown away by the stunning views from the White House. Words just cannot describe it. The house itself is beautiful and immaculate. Kathleen and Julian made us feel very welcomed. So did the cat which found her way to our hearts. You will find KitKat, crisps and water in your room which were very much appreciated after a long drive. There is also a great breakfast in the morning. We cannot fault anything about our stay except the fact we didn't stay longer. If ever you are planning a trip to the Isle of Skye you must grab the chance to stay with Kathleen and Julian.

Kathleen and Julian are natural hosts and provide a wonderful space to explore the beautiful area of Ross and Loch Carron. The White House is been perfectly situated to provide you with the most glorious view of Loch Carron and as we sat soaking in their view, a Golden Eagle flew past their window! The facilities are fantastic and the breakfast started our day off perfectly. I had the freshest poached egg, provided by the hens. Ross and the west coast highlands are glorious and shouldn't be overlooked. Kathleen, Julian and The White House are the perfect place to explore this wonderful part of Scotland.
