  • We had a wonderful time at Layla and Dennis'! They were excellent hosts for our trip to the Roaring Fork Valley. Their home was close to both city and outdoor activities. We hope to visit again very soon.

    Response from Dennis:

That is a great idea. We will leave oil and oil spray. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Dennis and Layla were wonderful and welcoming hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment and visiting such a beautiful area of Colorado. They provided great information about what to see and do. The rental is only 15 minutes to downtown Aspen, which was where we spent most of our time. It was the perfect birthday weekend getaway for me, my husband, and 17 month old son! We would definitely book with the Philens again!

  • We loved staying at Dennis and Layla's. The location is fantastic, and the place is really lovely. We wished we could have stayed longer! They has great local tips, were super friendly and welcoming, and their two boys were gorgeous. Whole foods is about 15 mins up the road, and Aspen about the same in the other direction. Would highly recommend staying with Dennis and Layla.

  • Dennis and Layla are such wonderful people as are their two little boys. The house has character but is the right amount of clean and organized. The bed was so soft! Just what my partner and I needed to relax after long days out. If you need anything at all Dennis has the answer. He suggested the perfect hike and knows the area very well. I have a feeling we will be back! Thanks Dennis and Layla!

  • This apartment was more than I could have ever asked for. I stayed for the entire month of October while on sabbatical, and even though I had read these reviews, just walking in the door exceeded my expectations. It was so homey, comfortable, convenient, welcoming, and just generally perfect for a long-term stay.

Dennis were BEYOND hospitable, and really took the time to make sure I knew all of the hiking trails in the area, and always asked if there was anything I needed. They were awesome to hang out with too!

    Other fun facts:
    - the bed is super comfy, and the blackout shades keep the room warm and sleep-in friendly
    - washer/dryer was great to clean-up after long days hiking
    - so was the blender, toaster oven, and coffee-maker!
    - dishwasher
    - the couch/futon folds out and is also comfy for 1-2 ppl to sleep on
    - convenient distance from Aspen/Snowmass and Basalt
    - their kids are ADORABLE!

  • We had a really nice time in Aspen. The home was very clean and had everything need it. 15 minutes drive to downtown.
    Thank you!

  • Very cute apartment with all conveniences. The bed was especially comfortable. The location couldn't be better. Our permaculture convergence was held in Carbondale on Saturday (at Sustainable Settings) and in Basalt on Sunday (at the Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute) so we were close by. Much better than staying in a hotel!

Appreciated that Dennis greeted us upon our arrival and made sure all our questions were answered. Thank you!

I'm a father of two young boys and husband to beautiful Layla. We have lived in Aspen for 14 years and love our mountian life styles. We love to ski, fly fish, hike bike and camp. We were introduced to Airbnb by Layla's sister who was traveling the US from Australia. She used Airbnb all over the country and loved it. We liked the concept. We are looking for guest who want to come to Aspen get out and enjoy the mountains, rivers and the great culture Aspen and our valley has to offer.
