We have separated the listing for our cabins lately, that's why there are no reviews .The reviews stayed with Colibri, Please look there.
Geco is a really nice cabin with jungle and ocean view and only view steps from the pool.
Location:: Delicias the cliff of Montezuma is a high point on the Southern Peninsula of Nicoya. This is where you could find us awaking by the sunrise 300 feet above. We are located 5 min. drive from the waterfalls. Montezuma can be reach by a fly charter to Tambor (30 min), by car, by Minibus or Local direct bus. Montezuma offers taxi services and Quad rentals.
We are about 15 to 30 min, to reach almost every top tourist destinations in our area such as: Mal pais, Santa Teresa, Cabuya, Cabo Blanco National Park, Tango Mar, Curu and Tambor. Montezuma is well known for its natural treasures, with its bohemian touch and alternative activities: Yoga, Body-mind healers, dance, health food offers, massage, meditation, spiritual retreats, film festival and art gatherings among others.
Mariposa Cabin: *The Mariposa Cabin was our first little house on the property. The details on it, tells about our way of
embracing life, our view of creation. The cabin has a little terrace on the tip of the cliff welcoming the horizon and miles and miles of coastline. The sunrise awakes on the bed. Pelicans, frigate birds, falcons and other bird species indulge the sky day by day. Cheers !
*The materials used on the construction of both cabins are from native antique wood: floors, doors and windows that we have rescued over the years, in order to avoid cutting more trees and for recycling purposes. Some of those pieces are from 1920.
Colibri Cabin: The Colibri cabin was our second project and we thought about a tree-house like. The cabin has a little loft for a double bed and a balcony direct on the cliff surrounded by tree’s, making you feel like an eagle above the ocean.
There is no obstacle in between you and the endless horizon. Further the ocean is only 600 feet (200m)away from you ,so you can sleep being lulled by the waves. Enjoy it !
For the guests without a car we offer to bring them down to Montezuma and the beaches and up when needed they can use a cab.
Every cottage has his own private parking and access. All our guests have access to the pool area.
We are living close to you and are always reachable for any question or help.
It´s quiet, save and nature oriented area. Also called Montezuma hills. We are on the same cliff as villa paraiso, Montezuma hills and others. It has one of the best ocean views in the country and still has not over grown. Each property on this residencial area has at least one and a half acres, what makes it really private.
There is almost no traffic going on, might be there will be twice a day a car passing.
It is the best to have your own vehicle to explore all the highlights in the area. There is also taxi service available. The cabins are in a strategic point from where you can take short cuts to Santa Teresa, Mal Pais, Cabuya (Cabo blanco park) and Cobano.
Feel home and make it your own new home.

Breathtakingly stunning view, beautiful cabina, & hospitable host!”

I have been to at least 15 different countries and had many travel experiences- staying at Montezuma Heights in Peter Kahl's handcrafted cabina at the top of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean was one of the most incredible accommodations I have experienced. We stayed in the Gecko cabin which allows you to enjoy the beautiful infinity style pool that is perched on the very edge of the cliff and surrounded by lush Costa Rican plants and flower bushes butterflies are very fond of. Peter was such a hospitable host and more than willing to do whatever he could to make sure we had a wonderful experience (recommending the best local fish, etc.) He also recommended watching the lightning storms which are common in July and it was absolutely spectacular! We sat and watched this massive show above the ocean for at least 3 hours.
The Gecko cabin was the epitome of charming and equipped with a self sufficiently designed kitchen giving you the option to make a couple meals there. We honestly didn't really want to go back into town and abandon this setup (as wonderful as the small town of Montezuma is.)
I recommend booking your stay for at least 4 nights as this is such an awesome experience and very affordably priced.
Thank you for being so welcoming Peter and sharing your oasis! We are certain to be back in the future!
Non Smoking inside the cabins, always feel welcome and happy, do not feed our dogs otherwise the move in with you. Close windows and doors when you are out, otherwise the white face monkeys and skunks see that as an invitation. Always remember you are in a area with tropical forest, enjoy the wildlife it's a lot of fun.
Stunning! Our expectations were exceeded. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Waking up and enjoying coffee poolside while watching the sunrise was our favorite thing to do here. Maybe a little swim before heading down the hill to town for yoga. We were able to enjoy many meals utilizing the kitchenette in the cabin and sitting on the private deck. As dusk fell, we'd listen to the howler monkeys and birds while the cool ocean breeze rustled through the jungle. The property is filled with artistic detail that added to its charm: original artwork, eco-friendly architecture and beautiful tile. Our host, Peter, and his caretaker, Santiago, were lovely and helpful. We look forward to staying here again as Costa Rica, and especially Montezuma, is already calling us back.
We had a wonderful stay up on the mountain at the romantic little cabin. We enjoyed swimming in the gorgeous pool while overlooking the view of the ocean and then laying out on the patio at night to take in the vast expanse of stars.
We had been advised by Peter to bring groceries as the cabin is remote, but we forgot the coffee and water!!! Our gracious hosts hooked us up with what they had available so that we could enjoy a wonderful morning sunrise with a cup of Costa Rican cafe!
We didn't have a car or ATV, so Peter helped us connect with a cab company that knew the location. It was about 10$ to Montezuma.
A lovely visit.
Thank you Peter and Rocio!

Absolutely wonderful! Was a bit difficult to find but we got there eventually. We saw so many monkeys from our bungalow it was astounding. We enjoyed the mariposa cabin for two nights and the gecko for one. The new hot tub at mariposa is a great touch and stargazing at night in the warm water was quite magical, we saw lots of shooting stars. Definitely get an ATV for at least a day so you can explore around, it's far from town and $70 for a whole day is a bargain. This place is so beautiful and calming! A little slice of heaven. Highly recommend!!
We stayed at Montezuma heights for 3 nights, the location was off the beaten track, with amazing views. Located around 10 mins from the main town it was nice to be in the quiet.
We didn't actually get to meet the hosts, but they where very quick and helpful when replying to our emails.
We enjoyed having deck space & hammock to relax, however found the room and bed a bit small for two people .
Amazing view point from swiming pool and really confortable little cabinas. Recommend This place and its warmed hosts ! We Will be back for sure !
Our stay in Peter, Rocio, and Natalie's Geco cabin could not have been more perfect. They were completely wonderful hosts and extremely helpful, happy and friendly. The Geco cabin is very artfully done. One of my favorite spots was the hammock on the cabin balcony where I could look at the ocean during the day and stars at night. I was surprised that we were actually chilly at night, the breeze through the cabin is wonderful. We would definitely stay here again. Thank You!
Staying at the Montezuma Heights Geco Cabin was an absolute joy for my fiancé and I. Of all the places we got to visit in Costa Rica, this was our favorite. Peter and his family were welcoming, friendly and helpful; offering rides into town, telling us about the "custard apples" growing in the trees and recommending activities we might enjoy in the area. Although I would recommend a car or ATV rental to get to and from town with ease, we were on foot and made the trek several times (maybe 30-40 minutes) and actually enjoyed the sightseeing and small workout. The kitchen is stocked with most basic items and we easily made most of our meals there. Their dogs are so sweet, we loved picking fruit off of the trees and reading in the hammock on the porch and you cannot beat the pool looking over the gulf. Thank you Peter and family, we can't wait to be back!
