About this listing
You are very welcome to stay in our guestroom - a lovely double bedroom in a 1873 townhouse conversion within a leafy Victorian conservation area. Here you will enjoy a night's rest under the comfy fluffy luxurious sheets, a toasty warm shower/bath (towels provided), and access to speedy WIFI. Also, feel free to enjoy the use of our living room and kitchen; with coffee and tea on the house. A perfect home away from home.
Our place is conveniently located, being just 2 minutes walk from Hillhead subway (underground) station and the bustling Byres Road with its nice restaurants and cafes offering a wide variety of choices from early morning to late evening. We really like this part of Glasgow ourselves and are keen to share the details of where to try coffee, cakes, croissants, cheese, curry etc.
Most of the Glasgow West End attractions, including the Botanical Gardens, Glasgow University, Mackintosh House and Kelvingrove Art Gallery are within walking distance.
You will be able to get into Glasgow city centre in 10 minutes via the subway (underground) or a 40 minutes scenic walk.
Your room and the living room overlooks the Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church designed by the architect James Sellar. It is modelled on the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.
There are free roadside parking spaces outside our place. However, given our convenient location, it can be a rather busy street. For folks with cars, we are happy to advice on the locations within 100 metres where there are normally spaces.
We have no furry pets.
We take pride in our place and enjoy keeping it homey & tidy. We look forward to welcoming people from various walk of life. We hope to hear from you soon!
The Glasgow West End has been awarded "The Great Neighbourhood Award" in the prestigious 2014 Urbanism Awards.

I am fairly easy going but have a few rules which are based on showing respect for other people within the flat and neighbourhood:
tidy and wash up your stuff after using the kitchen for your own food preparation
keep noise down after 11pm
no visitors of guest(s)
We are happy to check you in any time after 1pm, but we appreciate confirming this time prior to your arrival so we won't be hanging around the entire day. The latest check out is 12 noon, especially if we are expecting other guests' arrival. We are happy to make other arrangements if required such as dropping of bags early before check in time.
We quite enjoyed our stay at David's place in Glasgow. The accommodation was exactly what we were looking for: close to some nice walks, great access to Glasgow University, eateries and grocery around the corner, easy access to the subway and downtown, and all the amenities one would look for when staying in a foreign country. David was an exceptional host and made us feel welcome in his home, and the experience was stress-free as a result.
We had a wonderful stay in Glasgow. David made us feel really comfortable and welcome in their beautiful flat. Syinyis and Davidsrecommendations were excellent and really helpful. Thank you very much, next time we'll stay more than one night!
Another great stay at Syinyi and David's place. Comfortable, clean and a great location. They will give you lots of good advice about where to go for good food and drinks, places to see and current exhibitions/events. Looking forward to next time already!
Another warm and friendly welcome, nice to get to chat to Syinyi this time! Many thanks again, folks.
Syinyi is a great host. We couldn't believe the work put into recommending great restaurants around the area. It's the perfect spot for shopping and exploring Glasgow. We will def stay here again.
I had a great time staying at Syinyi and David's place in Glasgow. Sadly I didn't get to meet Syinyi, as she was away that week but David made me feel extremely welcome. The house is in an excellent location in a great part of Glasgow, and David and Syinyi's detailed visitor information will make sure you're never in doubt of the best places to eat and drink in town! I had a lovely stay :)
Syinyi and David live in a safe, vibrant neighbourhood, close to transportation, Glasgow University, and many interesting places to eat. We especially loved Ashton Lane. David is an awesome host. He was totally organized with helpful hints. We felt very welcomed. The bed was comfortable. We slept well. Our experience in Glasgow was a positive one because of David and Syinyi.
