Description

The space

Located in the centre of town, close to all amenities. We have 5 bedrooms altogether. There is a kitchen, a sitting-room with a fireplace, a utility-room, 4 bathrooms, 3 halls and a roof-garden. Can sleep up to 10 people. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite with two other bathrooms. The house is a large townhouse over a hundred years old.

Guests have access to a very large house. There is access to a small but lovely garden roof too.

I meet all my guests upon arrival and show them around the house. I give them the key and my phone number. I also give information about the town and local area.

Kilrush is a heritage town in west Clare. It has wonderful tourist attractions including a museum, dolphins on the Shannon, Scattery island and the Vandeleur walled gardens. Kilrush hosted the 2012 Famine Commeration and has a extensive famine history. The picturesque village of Cappa just a kilometre away has swimming facilities and a newly renovated playground. The seaside town of Kilkee is just 13 kilometres away with Loop Head Lighthouse nearby. The amazing Cliffs of Moher and the Burren are just 45 - 60 mins away from Kilrush town

Super location right in the middle of the town. Ample street parking in front of the house. The house itself is huge, easily sleeping 12 adults across the five bedrooms. The kitchen area is ideal for a large group to chat and eat. Recommend crottys pub which is less than 30 seconds away.

Great place to stay to explore the beautiful countryside around Clare. This house was ideal for our large group size of 8 adults and 8 kids all under 8 The kitchen was fully kitted out with all cooking utensils and fully stocked with everything we required. With young kids this was important as we dined in for both nights. The bonus for us was having one large room upstairs for sleeping that enabled all the kids to sleep together if preferred. There was no shortage of clean bed linen/single portable mattresses and towels to keep us all going. The house is very centrally located with shops/deli and café all in close proximity. Our host was there to meet us once we arrived and give us the grand tour. Special mention for the little playroom that allowed us all to relax a bit and the space to play was more than enough as the kids found there way around both inside and outside with the little roof garden making a lovely surprise for playing. The heating worked well and the house felt warm and cosy once the central heating kicked in. On a negative note paint touch-ups required in some of the bathrooms as it left a slightly shabby appearance and one or two glasses and mugs had chips on them but nothing to worry about. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend it as a place to stay at a very good price for a large group like us.

Large space good for large family although the bedroom downstairs wasn't useable as it smelt too musty. Not much to see in the town but we went to kilkee which was really nice

Marie was a wonderful host! We were not expecting as huge of a house as we got, but it was wonderful for our family of 6. Marie helped us plan our outing for the day and gave recommendations for food on the town which was fabulous! She also came over and let me into another building so we could dry our laundry since we were heading on another journey. Overall a great place and wonderful host.
