Interaction with Guests
Very little! We are rarely home when guests are coming and going-- if you want to visit come see us at our shop-- Home and Homme-- at 534 Main Street in Amherst.
We are available by cell phone at all times, however, should you need us just call/text!
Our neighborhood is quiet-- a 1960's development with lots of trees and very quiet streets. Nice place to walk! We are a 25 minute walk (or a 5 minute drive) from UMASS, Amherst College, and Amherst town center.
There is a very good public bus system that requires about a 15 minute walk to access. From the bus stop it is possible to get more or less anywhere in the valley. Ask us about the best walking routes!
We are also easily able to accommodate multiple cars if you are planning on meeting friends here for the weekend!
Other Things to Note
We provide coffee, tea, and a small refrigerator with appropriate accoutrements. There is also a small microwave, plates, bowls, and utensils. We do not provide breakfast.
Our guest suite does not have a separate entrance-- but we are happy to have people come through our house!
We are still in the process of renovating our home. The guest suite and most of our house is completely renovated, but other parts are still in process. The renovations should not in any way affect your stay-- but if there is a less than beautiful aspect-- please be understanding!
If you smoke, no problem, but please smoke outside. Ashtrays are provided. Thanks!
Easy communication, very friendly. Gave us advice on local restaurants, which worked out great. The space was clean and inviting, and really pretty perfect! We got there a bit later than expected, and had to leave early the next morning, so the only downside was that we couldn't spend more time there!
The space was perfectly lovely-- clean, open and well decorated without being cluttered. It was very private. I was able to come and go as I pleased and we didn't hear a thing. I would definitely stay here again.
My partner and I had an amazing stay! The whole experience was effortless and relaxing and the suite was beautiful!
Amazing location , great suite (pictures do not do it justice), wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend to others looking for a chill place to stay while in the Amherst area....
Wonderful suite - pictures match the place. Set in a quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe. Thank you so much for the coffee! Really comfortable bed and plenty of bedding. So easy to book and Mary-Moore was always in contact quickly on email!
Very welcoming hosts. The space was lovely. Wish we could have spent more time there.
We had a wonderful day at Mary-Moore's beautiful house. She responded quickly, was friendly in welcoming us, and then left us to our own devices, which is exactly what we wanted. The suite is stylish and cozy, and felt like sleeping blissfully in the forest. The neighborhood is quiet but close to everything, and the suite felt very private. We loved the extremely soft cats.

We bought our house in the Spring of 2014 and we have very much enjoyed renovating it to bring the tarnished Mid-Century details back to life-- with a whole lot of contemporary additions! It says on our website-- 'the best thing we do every day is to make people feel at home'-- we look forward to meeting you!
