1 . This is a smoke and pet free rental unit.
2 . Maximum occupancy 4. Any number over this must be approved by Landlord at the time the reservation is made.
3 . Check in time is after 3:00pm. Check out time is before 11am. Extended check out time may be arranged upon request.
4 . All rents are paid in full at or before the time of booking.
5 . Quiet hour begins at 10 pm. - TVs, Music and other loud noises to be reduced and or stopped at that time.
6 . No Parties.
7 . If Tenant(s) is planning a gathering with guests other than those renting the home, Tenant(s) need to get Landlord approval 24 hours in advance and disclose how many people will be attending.
8 . Tenant(s) agrees to be responsible for all guests at all times.
9 . The premises are to be used only as a private vacation residence for Tenant(s) and their guests listed in this form and their minor children. Occupancy by guests for more than the exact specified term of this agreement is prohibited without Landlord's written consent and will be considered a breach of this Agreement. Tenant will provide Landlord with a complete list of all occupants of premises. Tenant will not allow occupancy in excess of that agreed upon herein.
10 . The Tenants and Tenants' Guests shall hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Landlord against any and all claims of personal injury or property damage or loss arising from use of the premises regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss. Tenants expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the Landlord may maintain on the property does not cover the personal property of Tenants, and that Tenants should purchase their own insurance for Tenants and Guests if such coverage is desired.
11 . Landlord provides basic household supplies, dishes, utensils, etc., and a starter of items such as dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc.
12 . Guest(s) to provide all personal toiletries, including body soap and shampoo.
13 . Guest(s) personally responsible for damages to the home and its belongings.
14 . Upon check out please do not leave any personal belongings.
15 . Reservation is complete once Tenant(s) receives an email confirmation from Landlord.
Laura met us when we arrived and was warm and welcoming. The location of the house was perfect and the house itself was tremendous. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, plenty of space, and, what could be more wonderful than walking out the back door to see the ocean and sea turtles!
The villa was located in the perfect place right next to the ocean with turtles on the shoreline. The sunsets were spectacular and I can't think of a more wonderful place to have a cocktail! Laura was very helpful and responsive to any of our requests. We were a bit disappointed by the property itself - we felt it was a little run down (dishwasher did not dispense soap, upstairs curtains had holes and stains, some of the light circuits were not working, kitchen in general a little dirty and not very well equipped). The property was also very close to the other rental cottage - no problem as the neighbors were very nice but certainly not private.
The place is beautiful right next to the ocean like the name suggests :-) Paia town shops are less than a mile away. The house is very comfortable and has everything that it claims.
The listing was accurate, and the space was very pleasant... beautiful ocean views, interesting town half a mile away, turtles coming right up to the base of the water at night, and great to have the two condos together for 4 bedrooms in all. The downsides were a) the place is right off a busy highway so no ability to run or walk easily from the spot (the one day I went for a run I really felt unsafe and although on the side of the road people who did not expect pedestrians honked in alarm at me), b) not a good place for young kids - there is a 10 foot drop onto large rocks right off the garden, and we needed to make sure our toddler did not play in the garden at all, and c) there is no beach right from the condo, and the closest beach has rocks and strong undertow so not great for kids.
delighted with our stay at Oceanfront Villa. Beautiful views of the waves breaking on the rocks, the surfers, the giant sea tortoises frolicking in the rocks, and humpback whales spouting in the distance.

Town of Paia only 10 minute walk east of the house is quaint and has a surprising number of fine and reasonably priced restaurants. amazing that such a pleasant little hippie-ish village is only a 10 minute drive east from the airport.
We plan to return. If you require the amenities (and the stuffiness) of a major resort, you can find places on Maui's West Coast for three times the price of this. But if you want to be in real world, with beautiful sights and sounds, and funky restaurants and people, yet accessible easily to Hana, Kahalui, and West Maui, this place is hard to beat.
Laura was friendly and accessible
The check-in process was extremely simple. We showed up and left when we were supposed to. The view is wonderful and the property has most of what anyone would need. The other reviews have touched on our experience as well, we ended up arriving near dark as a result of a delayed plane and the path to the house is dim.
The rooms and closets provided ample room for our party and they were also able to accommodate a cot and pak-n-play for children. We were able to find practically everything we needed that you would expect to be in a rental home. When we did need assistance it was there extremely quickly. We did notice a critter or two with us, but nothing ridiculous. Keeping food stored is an obvious first step.
The views are amazing and you can really hear the waves at night in the upstairs rooms. We had a great time. Paia was nice, but if you plan to spend a lot of time on the west side of the island the drive does become inconvenient for a longer stay. We really enjoyed ourselves and would stay again, even with the inconvenience of the drive.
