In town, third floor Master Bedroom Suite with large master bedroom with queen bed and a dressing room/parlor with twin bed tucked away. Full private bath en suite. A/C and radiator heat. Plenty of room for two or three. In tony Chestnut Hill neighborhood. Easy walking to Downtown Lancaster, Central & Eastern Markets, Convention Center, Art Galleries, great restaurants, Franklin & Marshall College, and Lancaster's many other great spots. For the kids, this property is 1 block away from the North Museum of Natural History and Science and Planetarium and a short drive to The Science Factory. Buchanan Park is just a short walk away, next to the North Museum. Red Rose Transit has a bus stop just across the street from our house.
We provide a full breakfast and will accommodate special dietary needs, including vegan. We love using the fresh produce that is so readily available in Lancaster and we grow our own herbs, tomatoes and lettuce. Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 10:00 am.
Guests are welcome to relax on the front porch. There is also a 2nd floor porch -- a great place to relax or read or enjoy the birds in our back yard.
**OUR HOME WAS SELECTED FOR A PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT AWARD BY THE CHARLOTTE STREET ASSOCIATION OF LANCASTER FOR ADDING TO THE CHARACTER AND VITALITY OF THE CITY OF LANCASTER.
The Heils rock. Bobbie and Tom were super hospitable. The room is at the top of theirl place but its super comfortable and probably one of the more comfortable beds I've slept in.
Bobbie does a great job with b'fasts. Highly highly recommend!
This was our first AirBnB experience and Bobbie & Tom have set the bar VERY high! The room was spotless. The amenities plentiful. The bed comfortable. The breakfast delicious and the coffee plentiful. But the very best part of our stay were Bobbie and Tom. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their travels and their lives. They would be a wonderful couple to live next door to! I strongly recommend staying here if your travels bring you to this area.
Bobbie and Tom thank you for everything. You two are absolutely delightful!
Bobbie and Tom are the most lovely couple with a beautiful home. I'm quite jealous of it, actually. Bobbie and Tom were ready and waiting for us when we arrived, with such welcoming smiles. The 3rd floor room has the perfect amount of space, and is adequately refurbished and very clean. There are toiletries, plenty of towels and linens and even snacks set out for you upon arrival. There home is a 10 minute walk to the main area of Lancaster, and only a few minutes drive to everything.
For breakfast, Bobbie prepared muffins and stuffed french toast with fresh fruit. The Kenyan tea she served was unique and nothing like anything I've had before. We had orange juice as well. Bobbie chatted with us at breakfast, but was happy to leave us be, as well. Honestly, her story was very interesting and it was nice to hear. Also, note, she is happy to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions. She definitely knows and understands pretty much anything you throw at her.
I highly recommend Bobbie and Tom's home for your visit to Lancaster. I will definitely be back!
Bobbie and Tom are great people. A very homely place a bit like staying at an English Bed and Breakfast. Nice and quite and cozy. The vegan blueberry pancakes that Bobbie made was to die for. Not a far walk from downtown Lancaster.
Bobbie and Tom were great hosts! This was our first experience on airbnb and we had a great time! The pictures do not do this room justice! It was a great room and space, tucked away in a private area of the house on the third floor. There were games and books, a desk, pamphlets for things to do, as well as beautiful holiday decorations and pictures all around. We really felt comfortable and at home. The bathroom was a nice space with nice amenities and products that you would actually use and buy for your own home. There were so many things at our disposal including a heater, a humidifer, candies and snacks upon arrival, mini fridge and tea/coffee whenever we wanted. Getting to chat in the mornings with Bobbie and Tom were a nice treat and the breakfasts were as everyone else has said: excellent!
One of the great things I wanted to point out about Bobbie and Tom is their kindness and caring nature: my bf and I were both not feeling so well during the trip and experienced cold/flu like symptoms and we were greeted with warm cups of Kenyan tea (and special throat tea) each morning/day and given cough drops from their personal stash. It might not sound like much, but a little goes a long way and their small gestures really meant a lot. This bed and breakfast is about as good as it gets, with a great breakfast, the room and all the amenities offered, a reasonable price and wonderful and warm hosts. What more can you ask for? We have stayed at a bunch of B&Bs and this was really the best :) We will definitely be back and look forward to visiting again! See you soon! ----- Melissa & Geoff
Staying with Bobbie and Tom was an absolute pleasure! Communication throughout the booking process, arrival, stay and departure was excellent. Both are super friendly and thoughtful. Honestly nothing was too much trouble. They even called up a restaurant for us to check availability and when I left my phone charger they mailed it right away which was completely above and beyond our expectations.
The house is gorgeous, very clean and cozy.
We stayed in winter and we found the house perfectly warm and comfortable.
The room was incredibly spacious, almost like our own apartment with ensuite, mini fridge, tea, coffee and Bobbie even baked us cookies!!
The breakfasts were AMAZING every morning and never left hungry.
The best part though was the conversations. Bobbie and Tom are such genuine people and I'd recommend their home to anyone wanting to stay in this gorgeous city.
Some facts- nice walk to town, 3 min walk to coffee shop, 15 min easy drive to Amish attractions, lots of good places to eat in short driving distance, very very safe neighborhood.
Thanks again and one day we shall return!
We couldn't recommend Bobbie and Tom's hospitality more highly. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. Their house is a beautiful Lancaster original full of character and the our accommodation on the third floor was beautifully appointed, spacious, clean and (email hidden)eakfast was a highlight, Kenyan tea, blueberry pancakes and a great chat with Bobbie and Tom. We also had a great evening meal at the Pressroom (walking distance) on the recommendation of Bobbie and Tom. We only wish we had more than just one night there. We will definitely stay there again if possible in the future and recommend to others.
Bobbie and Tom are lovely hosts. The house is charming and well appointed. The room is comfortable and spacious - we had the whole third floor to ourselves. Wifi, fridge and coffee set-up, and control over the thermostat. The location is great - convenient to F&M, as well as downtown. Nice neighborhood and easy parking. Bobbie made us a fabulous brerakfast on Sunday morning, served at a beautifully set table. A wonderful and satiisfying end to our stay.
I had a great stay with Bobbie and Tom during my trip to Lancaster. I felt very welcomed in their home.
The room is very lovely and comfortable. Bobbie prepares very unique and delicious breakfast each day, which was a wonderful way to start the day.
Bobbie and Tom were amazing hosts ! They immediately made us feel like we were at home. The house is cozy and decorated with taste. The room and bathroom were very practical and clean. The breakfast was delightful. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants, we loved it !
Thank you for this great experience, we will be back !
