I found the guesthouse to be located within an adorable and quiet neighborhood (Walk Score of 74), while still offering easy access via public transportation to many of the quintessential New Orleans attractions. The NORTA was so simple to use, and cost me a mere $3 from the airport to the guesthouse (a taxi holds a regulated fee of $33).
Laura Lea was quite helpful during my trip planning, and the guesthouse was truly clean and cozy ...just as advertised! The bed and linens are definitely luxe. This place may be better suited for long-term stays, as I didn't find much use for the fully equipped kitchen. It could also benefit from a connectivity upgrade, although walking a few minutes to a coffee shop for WiFi didn't feel like much of an inconvenience.
What an amazing place to stay in New Orleans! Laura Lea and Marcello were beyond considerate and hospitable, and the apartment was way more than we expected. Not only was the rental clean and comfortable, the neighborhood was one of my favorite in the whole city. We ate really well within 3 blocks of the house, and when we wanted to see the rest of the city, the bus stops 2 blocks away and takes you right to the French Quarter and the Garden District. We will absolutely stay here again.
Our friends who spent twice as much as we did to stay in/near the French Quarter didn't enjoyed their stay in New Orleans nearly as much as we did, and we have our fantastic experience with our hosts to thank for that!
We had a great stay.Everything was provided that we needed. The location was great for us. It was walking distance to my oldest daughter's home and has a great coffee shop down the street. We would stay again.
This is the perfect New Orleans neighborhood! Far enough away from the party crowds on Bourbon but close enough to get there if you need to. Down the street we enjoyed the best coffeeshop in New Orleans, Fair Grinds, and liked our morning walks there and to the Maple St. bookshop and market. Everything you need is within walking distance, and wandering beyond the Fairgrounds was easy - Esplanade takes you into downtown via car/bike/bus and there are tons of shortcuts. We drove here so I cannot speak on behalf of not having a car but the distance from everything was small. Oh, and we were greeted with snacks and wine! Definitely welcoming. The bed was comfortable, it was super clean and simple, the kitchen had everything we needed to eat our leftovers from Liuzza's (garlic oyster po boy!) and Adolfo's (do not NOT go to this restaurant on Frenchman. Ocean sauce.) The only downside, and not like you're in New Orleans to surf the internet, was that there was no wireless connection. So finish up your work before you visit, and don't plan on watching any films on your laptop when you're exhausted after a long day of walking (:
I booked this place for my Dad and his wife. The cottage is so cute and in a great neighborhood! They had a wonderful stay here in New Orleans. Laura Lee was so helpful and got them everything they needed and then some. Could not be happier.
The apartment was great, a wonderful little cottage from which to experience New Orleans. It was great of the hosts to have the place ready for us right when we got to town, and there were even some goodies and foodstuffs to start us out. The neighborhood is quiet and artsy, and very convenient to the popular areas of town. Highly recommended!
We have recently moved to New Orleans and we love living here. My husband is a jazz drummer from Italy and plays with several bands around town. We love to travel and are excited about hosting people at our home as well.
