A beautiful apartment in the heart of the historical centre of Venice, only 5 minutes away from the municipal Casino. Even though it is only a 15 minutes walk away from St. Mark's square it offers unique and rare tranquillity. The apartment is completely restored and furnished with prestigious furniture. It is on the ground floor, facing a typical Venetian canal with a separate and private entrance and consists of a double room, living area with kitchen view, a sofa bed for 2 and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, toaster, kettle and microwave. The apartment has an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, air conditioning and independent heating system.
The Sestiere of Cannaregio in which the apartment is located, offers many attractions for tourists who want to stay in an area served by the Venetian markets, typical shops, and restaurants that offer excellent cuisine.
The most known way to reach Rialto and San Marco is called "Strada Nuova", which is a few minutes far from the apartment, along "Rio della Sensa. "
The vaporetto stop more convenient is S. Marcuola.
Pros: spacious, good local neighbourhood with great bars, unit overlooks a canal, close to both the railway station & a ferry stop so excellent in terms of access, greeted very warmly by Karina.
Cons: no wifi as advertised & our repeated requests for assistance when the provided wifi password came up as incorrect were ignored. After our requests for assistance were met with silence, we decided not to push the issue as one of the house rules indicated that if a request for maintenance/technician was deemed to not be a 'real issue' a fine of 100€ was to be imposed. Not very encouraging when you want help for a malfunctioning amenity that was stipulated as being supplied. We stayed 3 nights & had to rely on free wifi in restaurants or Internet cafes for the duration of our stay.
Also despite the comparatively large cleaning fee, the house rules stipulated that we wash all the dishes, take out the garbage within the Venice collection schedule, and leave the apartment in a tidy condition or else we could get fined a ridiculous 100€. Obviously we are respectful guests & would happily comply but we found the penalty completely unnecessary. We were also only provided with one half used roll of toilet paper.
All in all, we certainly enjoyed our stay in Venice however we felt that the accommodation offering was not as good as it could be. This is probably a result of dealing with an agency who seemed more concerned with penalising you wherever they can rather than providing a service that would adequately reflect the charge.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
very chilled, clean apartment in a quiet local neighbourhood. Nice location away from touristy crowds and opportunity to explore local restaurants.
Staff helpful on arrival and kindly met us at Vaporetto stop.
The only downside was the internet connection wifi never worked properly despite being advertised in the accommodation title.
Positives: Location was great, close to nice restaurants and bars. The apartment was spacious and clean. Accurate photos.
Negatives: We did not have hot water or wifi the entire time. We reported these issues but they were not corrected. I think they made some attempts but the problems were never fixed. This made our stay quite uncomfortable and difficult as we could not research what we wanted to do in Venice and especially for the Biennale.
I feel bad leaving a bad review about a stay but I feel like people should know about what happened when my parents and I stayed at this apartment in May 2013.
We arrived to a unique situation, Venice has very high water and a big storm so the city was flooded. That caused a lot of problems all throughout the city. We were unable to check into the apartment for about 3 hours from our planned time. This was unfortunate but mostly due to the weather so we weren't too bothered by it.
However, when we got to the apartment there was no power. We had lights and hot water but no power. The fridge, microwave, tv, and outlets did not work - meaning we could not charge anything. This didn't get fixed until the middle of the following day. It wasn't until we ourselves had to find the problem with the power (faulty extension cord plugged into an outlet under the kitchen sink was causing the breaker to blow).
then the kitchen sink faucet was about to fall off. The sink in the bathroom did fall apart on us but my clever father managed to put it back together using a vacuum handle. then the window in the kitchen fell off it's hinges. it felt like problem after problem with this place.
then the worst of it all came when we woke up in the morning. ANTS! hundreds and hundreds of ants everywhere in the kitchen. They were crawling on the walls, on the table, all over the floors and unfortunately for me, on my bed as I slept on the sofa bed in the kitchen. They would crawl all over me at night when I slept. It was truly disgusting. by day two we couldn't take it anymore - we were killing ants left, right and center. but we left some food out in the corner of the kitchen which attracted them to that location so they didn't bother other areas, as much...
So with these problems and the ants - I do not recommend staying at this location or staying with Faville Tours in general. I will say that the girls I dealt with were very kind, and very sweet but lacked the power to really remedy the problems we faced when we told them about them. When asking to speak with a manager about this situation, they never returned my messages.
I feel that working with a company is much worse than with a private home owner as there doesn't seem to be that personal touch or care that home owners would have.
Finally, I would like to end on a positive note - the apartment itself is quite lovely. great layout, space and design. just lacked the proper care and upkeep and service.
Dear Kyle, we are sorry to read this review about the aartment where you stayed in Venice and our company. You already stated that unfortunately there was rain and high water in Venice when you stayed at the apartment, for this reason there were some problems maybe with the electricity or power not only in this apartment but in other areas of Venice. The problem with the aunts should be onsider under different points of view, I mean that no guests complaint in the past about this and it was the first time we hear a problem like this in one of our apartment. Venice is quite a humid city and maybe if in the apartments there are some breadcrumbs, dirty dishes or just a little bit of food on the table, it may happen that ants arrive, but there is nothing we can do. On the contrary we work with a really good maintenance staff that is always available to come and check if in the apartment there is a problem. Unfortunately you had a quite bad experience in Venice, and we are sorry for that. We are sorry for the inconvenience but we should like to say that our team is always ready to find solution for the guests.
Good location in a quiet and safe area of the city. Enjoyable after a day in the hectic crowd. The flat is as on the pictures. When we had small issues with equipment people at faville were really very reactive. Definitely a great way to enjoy venice.
Everything perfect thanks
We spent 3 nice days in this apartment. It is just like in the photos, no surprises. Ideal for two or three people, it is 20 min walking to Piazza San Marcos and 5 min to vaporetto stop. There is a supermarket very near and it is in a very quiet and secure area. The host Serena was very kind and was waiting for us in the vaporetto stop in spite of we were late. She was very helpful and even gave us a map where showed us the best places to visit and how to reach them. I recommend this flat! The only con is there is no wifi in the flat...
Simpáticos, casa bem situada e acolhedora mas pouco cuidada.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
