Shhhh! Quiet!!! You might have found the key to Time Travel – At least you might think you’ve turned the clock back to the 1970’s to visit Grandma and Grandpa. They live off the beaten path in the Quiet of the past. In season, you might catch them in the garden, tending fruit trees, picking apples, making cider. You might catch a glimpse of deer walking through the garden. Hush! If you’re successful turning back the clock, you might see a grandchild coming to visit – If not, just enjoy!

The space
Upon leaving Mt Chestnut Road you will travel on our (single lane) gravel road about 1/3 mile to the top of our Ridge. AS you approach the house, take the right driveway & follow the “Visitor Parking” signs. The Ground Studio has its own private ground-level entrance to the Kitchen with new Fridge, Sink & Counter Tops - Bathroom has new Tile Floor, Ceramic Tile Shower Bath & all new Fixtures - Extra large Wool Carpeted Living Room w/closet & Dining Area (including table & chairs- Washer/Dryer Closet & enough floor space to accommodate our Full-Size Air Mattress – An Extra Large Bedroom w/Queen Size Bed w/new box spring/mattress, Night Stand, Corner Cabinet, Dresser w/mirror, Chest w/TV & Work/Computer Table w/Printer. Extra room for our Full-Size Air Mattress.

We Care About All Who Visit! Consequently, we are cautious about using cleaning chemicals, special fragrances and/or scented detergents that can cause even minor reactions in some people. You can depend upon our 'clean' being just that! We do our best to follow principles & recommendations found on AirBnB’s Website when it comes to our cleaning & preparing our lodging accommodations for your visit.
Practices & principles of cleanliness that we try to emulate are found on AirBnB’s website pages entitled:
Protecting yourself and your guests from illness
From washing your hands to disinfecting surfaces, little steps go a long way.

Open the Kitchen Door & enjoy the morning sunrise. Listen – you’ll hear the rooster welcome the morning – then the beautiful Rhode Island Red hens will be busy laying the eggs for the day.

You might be greeted by Rocky – the three-legged cat. He is a bit shy, but might enjoy a pat – He got his name because his previous home was near a highway, and he was hit by a car – To save him, he had to lose a back leg. He was a Rock Star at rehab! But please, don’t feel sorry for him, he enjoys life and can do almost everything he could do when he had 4 legs. He’s an indoor/outdoor car, whichever he prefers at the moment!

Enjoy walking around the outdoors of the property however, for safety reasons, don't walk around at night! We too are available to visit on occasion! We might know of local attractions that may interest you, if you ask. Check out our GUIDEBOOK for some suggestions. A quick phone call or knock on the door will let you know if we are available. If we are, we'd love to chat!

Peace & Quiet, Birds & Chickens & one cat! Shhh! Don’t tell anyone, but time travel is still “possible”. – We love it this way!

Our Home (that the Studio is attached to) is situated off of a 1/3 mile gravel road on top of a ridge that is located in the middle of about 300 acres of natural woodlands . We have only two neighbors one of which is my daughter & her husband's home on the North side with an A-Frame home located behind a privacy fence on the South side.

Retired but working harder than ever maintaining our 10 acres within 350 acres of woodlands. Tending fruit trees, raised bed gardens, chickens and dog. Upkeep of our 3000 sq. ft. home is consuming. Avid History buff, love to talk Philosophy , reminisce raising five children & enjoying fourteen grand children. Relaxing time spent watching TV & going to Floyd Country Store to experience live Blue Grass & Gospel Music.

Trying to maintain a balance between the two requires us to take advantage of 'meet & greet' opportunities when they occur naturally.
