Rustic cabin in the woods nestled among giant boulders. Perfect for romantic getaways or small families. Open living area downstairs and large loft bedroom (sleeps 4), plus two decks and a screened-in porch. Pet friendly. Includes fireplace and outdoor fire pit. UPDATE - now has Air Conditioning!

The space
The giant boulders on the property are wonderful and unique. The cabin is small and cozy, but since the bedroom is separated from the main level, there are places to spread out. Our kitchen includes basic equipment for simple cooking, and we also have a gas grill and an electric ice cream maker (no rock salt or hand cranking required).

Guest access
Anything on our property is fair to use, but please be respectful of neighbors on both sides. Please note that the Gazebo near our deck is not on our property, this belongs to our neighbors.

Other things to note
Please note the following:

(1) We now have two AC units in the summer, and propane heater available for winter.
(2) GPS and phones may not work when you get close, be sure to have your route mapped in advance.
(3) Stairs to the upper floor are quite steep.

Neighborhood highlights

Don't miss DeSoto Park/Falls and Little River Canyon. The Falls are north of us, while the Park is south. The Falls are a must see when flowing well! The park also rents kayaks just above the Dam/Falls for an hourly fee, it is an easy paddle but there is no current so you will need to work your arms. Check DeSoto Park Facebook for current events. For hiking at DeSoto, if you don't mind a steep descent, try the Indian Falls trail for great views of Little River. For an easier hike, try the boardwalk trail just across from the Indian Falls trail (a small parking lot is there). Trail maps and advice are available from the County Store at the park. Little River Canyon also has a welcome center with information and maps. Mentone is worth visiting but most things are only open Thurs-Sun. Head up to Brow Park in Mentone for a great mountain view / picnic spot. Historic Fort Payne is also worth a visit if you have time! And if want to take a day trip to Chattanooga, we recommend the Aquarium or Rock City. In addition, there are two great local adventure companies if you want guided kayaking, rock climbing, and more: One World Adventure Company and True Adventure Sports.
