Please be mindful while preparing for your stay and consider the following:

-Food. Bring everything you will need. The nearest store is about 30 minutes away. There is a small corner store 5 minutes away and the lechoneras of Guavate are about 20 minutes away.

-Cooking. We provide a camping stove, sink, dishes and silverware, dish soap, and a cooler. Plan on bringing everything you will eat. We may have produce available to sell, but are not yet in full production.

-Water. We collect rain water which is available for showers and cooking. We have a reverse osmosis system that purifies this water for drinking. We are lucky to have an adequate amount of water, and we request that you are conscious of your water usage. Take short showers and limit usage to what you need so there is enough for everyone.

-Clothing. We recommend lightweight, flowy long sleeves and pants to protect yourself from the bugs, lightweight shawls, bathing suit, towels, sun hat, suncreen, sun glasses, raincoat and hiking boots/rubber boots. From September-March it is cooler at night so warmer pants and a sweater or jacket are recommended.

-Animals/Insects. There are many types of insects, reptiles, and amphibians located on our property and there is a 100% chance you WILL encounter them on your stay(although nothing poisonous!) Please only bring chemical-free bug repellent as DEET is harmful to the ecosystem and recent studies revealed oil essences work just as well. Recommended natural brands are All Terrain, Kiss My Face Fly Swatter and Quantum.

-Use eco-friendly products. We practice closed loop energy cycles here which means the rain water you will use to shower will drain back into the soil. Please only use eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner, soap, sun screen, etc. **please make sure all soap is BIODEGRADABLE. We recommend Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap and we will have this available in the showers and sink.

-Reduce your footprint. We invite you to challenge yourself to a more sustainable way of life during your stay with us- reduce the amount of plastic you use and waste you produce while with us. We can collaborate to feed food scraps to our chickens or compost and we will provide reverse osmosis filtered rain water. Plan to take all landfill trash out with you.

-Reduce your energy usage. All of our energy is solar which is awesome but means we must live more closely with nature and reduce our energy usage, especially if there is less sunlight. That being said, you have access to electrical plugs and may charge your cell phone.

-Disconnect to Reconnect. You are the guide of your own experience AND we invite you to disconnect from technology and stress as much as possible and to reconnect to mother nature, other people, the animals, the natural cycles, and the rhythm of the farm. Given this, we also have quiet hours from 10pm - 8am. If you want to participate in farm work or arrange a workshop, yoga session, or farm tour let us know ahead of time and we can arrange a great experience.

We recommend researching ahead of time so you will know what to expect and we are happy to answer any questions.
